Early vintage rosewood & sterling silver dish or ashtray designed & signed c. 1930's by American & Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). The piece measures 3 1/4" across and 1 1/2" high. The hand carved octangular wood holder is inset with a hand hammered 980 sterling silver liner. Signed twice - WS TAXCO 980 on the silver, also WS TAXCO branded into the underside of the wood. A magnificent 9 ½ inch tall Quezal vase with green and gold pulled feather decoration on an opal ground. The vase is in excellent condition and is signed “Quezal A776" on the polished pontil. The bulbous vase is 6 inches in diameter and the top rim measures 3 3/4 inches across.

This is a really nice Wishing Well Planter with Dutch Boy and Girl made by Shawnee. It is signed on the front WISHING WELL and on the bottom SHAWNEE USA.
