Japanese Noh theater Ko-omote (young lady) mask. Beautifully carved out of wood and delicately painted with the rounded features and slight smile of a young lady. She has the shaved eyebrows which have been stylized and darkened up high on her forehead and the delicate blackened teeth of an upper class woman. Caved mark on the back. Showa Period (1926-1945).

A whimsical khaki green-yellow glazed Japanese pottery figural sake pot depicting a tanuki trying to make off with a proportionately larger sake barrel. Early 20th century to turn of that century. Good condition. Height 3 1/2 inches (8.89cm). About 4 1/2 inches (11.4cm) length from tanuki's nose.

They are 11.4 inches (29 cm) tall by 4.8 inches (12.3 cm) wide. Total weight is 4.9 Lb.
They have dark spots, rubbing paint and gold, and surface wears and scratches. One of the vase has a hairline crack at the side (as seen in the photos).

A small metal box which contains an ink stone to grind ink sticks for writing. The box has been cast in brass and has a copper bottom. The ink stone is secured in the lid with a spring frame. The top of the box shows an engraved landscape design with a scholar figure and a hut. By all appearances the box has not been used as it does not show ink stains, and it still has a new looking, temporary, six sided factory mark inside. Also there are Chinese characters engraved on the lid...
