This is a shepherd's wool coat from upper Chitral or Nuristan, depicting the branched "ram's horn" and tree of life designs reminiscent of the woollen garments and felts of central Asia. The mountainous area of Chitral adjoins the province of Nuristan in Afghanistan, a historical and geographic starting point for continuous trade routes into central Asia. Massive Korean rectangular form scholar’s inkstone with removable cover carved in high relief with a stylized dragon. The base has a central sloped rectangular inkwell bordered with two opposing dragons chasing a flaming pearl. The flat bottom is carved with low arches at the center of the four sides to form wide feet at the corners. 11 3/4" long x 8 1/4" wide x 3 7/8" high. Probably dates from the mid-20th century. From an old Tucson, Arizona collection.

Very rare bronze quiver with four arrows, (their heads made of iron and shafts made of bamboo). The quiver is nicely decorated with geometric designs in relief and leather covers, with a nice reddish-green patina on the bronze. Dimensions: 54 cm long for the quiver and 40 cm long for the arrows. Cameroon, Kirdi ethnic group. Very good condition. NOTE: acquired in 1970 in North West Cameroon.

Chinese yellow and green Jadeite Jade Pendant with heavy 14 K gold mounting, 1 3/4" high-Jade piece only, 1 1/8" wide, 3/8" thick, carved double gourd form with foliage, impressed 14K gold mark on the ring on top. The condition is good, no damages.

Depicting delicate motifs in somber, predominantly blue-black combined with discrete touches of rusty red, this textile from the Savu Islands of eastern Indonesia is called a selindang. The shawls are worn by women over their shoulders, to complete their sarong attire. This textile is estimated to date to the late 20th century and is constructed by warp ikat, warp-faced, with fringes. It measures 71 x 191 cm and is in perfect condition. The dye is a natural indigo.
