Neolithic Hongshan Nephrite Jade Deity Mask Pendant, the face with large eyes and a large snarling nose and tall head piece, the jade is so worn on the back that its almost sharp edges shows extensive wear. The Suspension holes are biconically off set drilled with mineral deposits within. The entire surface is covered in tremolite growth , a wonderful pendant. Size H 2.75" w just under 1" . Wooden panel covered with a thick layer of green urushi lacquer decorated with a lake landscape. A pontoon on stilts in light relief brown, ocher and yellow lacquer is surrounded by flowering Irises. The leaves are also in green thick lacquer and the flowers are in mother-of-pearl and eggshell, probably ostrich. The work is particularly neat and very solid. No signature, but certainly an excellent artist...

Very lovely black lacquered 'suzuri bako' writing box with mother of pearl inlaid leaves and swirling gold gilt vines on the cover. Inside is a silver ink pourer and ink stone and brush. The lacquer work is exceptional. C.1930 early Showa Period. The bottom has a few scratches but the visible top and sides are in excellent condition. Ask for shipping quote.
