Chinese Jumu hardwood coffer cabinet. A coffer is a strong chest or box used for keeping money or valuables safe. The front of the cabinet holds two drawers with hardware for locks. The lower portion has 3 panels.

Antique Chinese low rectangular table (kangshuo). Made of huanghuali wood with dramatic grain. The apron is carved on all sides in a rounded scrolling vine motif.

Antique Chinese low cabinet. The upper portion has two drawers over a compartment opened by two cabinet doors. The doors swing on wooden dowel hinges which seat into small decorative carved peony flowers. The interior of the cabinet has one shelf. The front is finished with a rich red lacquer while the sides and top are a dark, distressed reddish brown lacquer finish.

Beautiful 4-string lute ("saranghi"), the top in the shape of a head holds the four keys, the body itself is made of two parts of heart shape. Wood, with nice dark-brown glossy patina. An antique Chinese seal chop of soapstone with an image of Hotei. Chinese seals are used with red ink or cinnabar paste (zhusha). A seal in an East is a general name for printing stamps and impressions which are used in lieu of signatures in personal documents, office paperwork, contracts, art, or any item requiring acknowledgement or authorship. The process started in China and soon spread across East Asia.
