Here is an archetype of the archaic statuary of western Nepal depicting a protector in standing position with hands clasped together in the ritual gesture of the Namaste, covered with an important black crusty patch of soot and offering, collected in a shamanic shrine in Jumla sector, very hard wood, evident signs of great age estimated at least from the middle 20th, H 70 cm, presented on a base metal
Old primitive mask with glossy back patina from East Nepal , Rai , Limbu , Kiranti people ? very hard wood , obvious signs of age , early 20th, H 29 cm.
A super fine phurba with a great black glossy patina, , the top shows four ancestor faces (3 cm) and four other miniature faces (2 cm) have been carved on top of the triangular blade , obviously very great age at least from 19th . Overall H 19 cm, presented on an iron stand.
Very original phurba showing two shamans or ancestors ( H 10 cm each) in the standing position on a monkey, the hands are joined in the Namasté gesture, very audacious and fine carving , the triangular blade is more rough and simple, superb black glossy patina, H 22 cm , presented on a metal stand. A two-double janus ancestors which could seems rough at first glance but looking carefully reveals a peculiar design, the larger form is yet anthropomorphic with a superposed carved second human silhouette, the back side is similar. An African Mali ceremonial mask. Hand carved with applied brass strips and cowlry shells. Beautiful patina, it measures 15" high x 9" across x 5".
Chinese carved Ivory Ram's Head clasp, consisting of Ram's Head and oval ring, 2 long 7/8" wide, 3/8" deep-Ram's Head, and 7/8" x 5/8" wide, 1/8" thick-oval ring, made in "Hong Kong" label, imported to US prior to 1980. The oval ring goes over the Ram's Head to close the necklace, connect with string to other side of Ram's head, there are two(2) holes to connect together and string the oval ring next to beads of your choice. The condition is good.
Japanese Pottery Gray and White Tea Bowl, 5" diameter-top rim, 2 3/4" high, with impressed mark on the bottom, 2" long glaze hairline on the side of the bowl.

Japanese vintage obi with a mid-century modern flair, decorated on one side in bright yellow with orange and lime green dots accenting the points of a raised weave geometric star-patterned background. A lovely and whimsical Japanese print by artist Mayumi Oda (1941-present) titled "September Afternoon", numbered 12/50 and signed all in pencil. She is widely loved for her female empowering works, many of which are currently part of the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and more. Laid down on wooden board for flat presentation.

Satsuki was from Kyoto, the most famous pupil of Tomioka Tessai, early C20. This painting is beautifully painted with black and plum colours, perfectly combining strength and delicacy in the technique and in the subject matter. In Japanese culture as in Chinese, plum blossom symbolizes strength and nobility of character.
Good condition, some creases, with original signed box.
