The rising moon can be seen in the background, hanging above a small cliff with branches with beautiful blossoming flowers curled around it. Beautiful women's vintage silk cheongsam (or qipao) dress with gold trim and satin borders. It has water droplet shaped fasteners with gold swirls within, mandarin collar, and slits on either side. The first style of qipao emerged in the Qing Dynasty when the Manchu social group called the Banners came to be. All Han Chinese under the banner were forced to dress in qipao instead of traditional Han dress...

Chinese blanc de chine porcelain statue of Quan Yin, the Buddhist bodhisattva associated with compassion. Her name is short for Guanshiyin, meaning "Observing the Cries of the World." She is seated upon a large wooden seat and wears a gorgeous cascading robe with strands of beads adorning her torso and legs. In her right hand she holds the branch of a willow tree. She is extremely detailed and beautiful. Dates from 19th century. Size: 10" hwight, 3" width

DESCRIPTION: A handsome rectangular Chinese chest crafted from a deep red ox leather and furnished with brass fittings. The interior still has the original blue silk lining and would have originally held scrolls or documents. Today it would make an attractive accent piece on top or underneath a cabinet or table. Good condition with some scuffing on edges; blue silk interior has some stains and small holes. This chest originated from Zhejiang Province and dates from 1920-1940...
