Pair of cylinder cases, thinly potted with narrow necks and feet painted in mirror image with birds perched among flowering prunus plants. Accented red hand drawn borders at the rims and base of each vase with a poem on the opposite side.

On the base of each is a red overglaze seal of Liu Yucen.

Condition: On one of the vases, there is the remnants of a Jianding export seal. Next to this seal is a glaze crack, most likely from trying to remove the seal...

Chinese porcelain dish with garden scene. Three figures sit around a table eating fruit while a fourth figure stands, gazing at something. The party is seated under hanging lamps. The border of the bowl is intricately decorated with chrysanthemums, peonies, and other flowers. The back of the dish has a red stamp and three bands of flowers. It measures 13" diameter. Republic period mid 20th century.

A rare "famille rose" dragon and phoenix decorated bowl with an inscription dedicating it as a 60th birthday gift from Ma Tao Yu to Xiong Gong - otherwise known as Chen Zhao Ying (1888-1977), who was a senior military leader of the Guo Min-dang (Kuomintang) between the years 1911 to 1932 and who was very close to Sun Zhong-shan and Jiǎng Jièshí (Chiang Kai-shek)...

A set of four wine cups individually painted in traditional Chinese landscape style and each bearing the verse "Xin Kuan Wang Di Zhia" which translates directly as "Heart Broad Forget Ground Narrow". The bases carry the iron red four character reign mark of the Hongxian 'emperor' (1916) but these items were probably made later, during the Republic Period, circa 1917-1949. This is a very beautiful early "Ming Guo" or early Chinese Republic (1912-1950) fine famille rose Tianqiuping vase. The vase depicts spring season with many flowers blooming and four colorful butterflies scattered around and flying about the flowers. The flowers consist of peony, daisy and prunus with some bamboo and grasses in it. The prunus is shown growing out in all directions. There is also a short poetry about the flowers written on the vase...

A Chinese sacrificial-red (ji hong) glazed stem bowl. There is a six-character Da Qing Dao Guang Nian Zhi mark inside the bottom of the stem foot, but it was probably made in 20th Century. There are heavy scratches inside the bowl, no other flaw beside this. Diameter: 7"; height: 4".

Chinese posrcelain tea bowls with saucers and lids. The cups and lids are beautifully painted with phoenixes and dragons flying through clouds. The saucer is painted with pink, blue and yelow clouds. This very well painted Chinese Famille Rose ceramic picture is 8 ¾ inches wide and 11 ¾ inches long (with frame is 14 ½ inches wide and 19 ½ inches long). It depicts two long-tailed birds standing on a higher branch looking at their offspring in their nest. This tile picture is a 1940’s product. It is in excellent condition.

A rare and very finely decorated Chinese porcelain vase depicting a flowering peony shrub painted with fencai/famille rose enamels.

On the base is the iron red four character mark "Shen de tang zhi" -the "Hall for the Cultivation of Virtue" which was located in the Old Summer Palace, the Yuanmingyuan, which was destroyed by European troops in 1860. The mark was used during the Kangxi and Daoguang reigns and also during the Republic period (1912-1948) when we believe this vase was made.
