A small Japanese hibachi formally known as te-aburi or a hand warmer which were often found in traditional Japanese homes. The hand warmer is shaped in the form of a winter pumpkin known as an akoda and the design has been in use since the 17th century. The warmer contains makie decorations of chrysanthemums set with a bamboo fence. Age: 20th century Size: diameter 7.5" height 8.25"

Large Japanese woodblock print of a horse by the artist Nakayama, Tadashi (born 1927). Titled, "Cyclone". This image of a horse stands with it's mane billowing with bits of color and metalic leaf. The head of the horse is patterned with colors while most of the body remains a dapple of charcoal and white. In the background, a series of thin circular lines accent a metalic leaf sun or moon. Signed in pencil and numbered 85 of 85...

Done in the Annan style which is a Japanese adaptation of porcelain-wares imported from a region of ancient Imperial China (now part of Vietnam) from the late Muromachi period (1392 - 1573). At the time this type of pottery was hugely popular among tea devotees and this enthusiasm continues into the modern day...

Chidori plovers soar between warm green clouds draped over the rim of this Oribe style bowl by Kitaoji Rosanjin enclosed in a double wood box (Nijubako) annotated by Living National Treasure Kaneshige Toyo. On the bottom of the bowl is the star mark of Rosanjin, which he used to mark pieces made for his restaurant. The bowl is 16.5 cm (6-1/2 inches) diameter and in excellent condition. The box is titled Oribe-fu Chawan, Rosanjin-saku (Oribe style bowl made by Rosanjin)...

Japanese Earthenware Studio Vase, with dripping oily glaze, maybe Seto ware, 9 3/4" high, 4 1/2" diameter-top rim, 4 1/4" diameter-bottom rim, oily drippy glaze applied just over half way down, rest of glaze is chestnut brown color. Lots of glare in the photographs. The condition is good, no damages.

This hand painted Japanese ceramic bowl is an early or mid-20th century product. It is 7 1/8” in diameter and 3” high. It depicts white cherry blossoms and red maple leaves on a milk white crackled background inside and outside. There is a small finger pinch close to the rim. The stamped maker’s mark “Takamine” is near the bottom. It is in great condition.

An original limited edition Kiyoshi Saito woodblock print entitled Flower and a Girl (10) printed in 1971 and numbered 14/80. Rare print in a low edition of a girl in profile viewing a colorful flower.

This is Kazri-Mino of an vintage folk handicraft used in the Tohoku district. This is made of the epidermis of the tree of Shina and the seaweed which were completely dried. As for this, the decoration around the neck is made in Koyori-Paper. This is an item of the 20th century. This does not have stain damage. Size 127cm x 44cm (50 "x 17.3")

Lovely Japanese Hira Taiko Drum, made from a light hardwood, and hung from a Hiratsuri stand. The drum has iron studding to keep its drum skins in place and gold kanji/kana on a black metal strip, with a gold taiko logo for Maru Masa. A drumstick is included which hangs off a hook from the Hiratsuri stand. Makes a lovely drum sound as it is intact and in good condition. Dentou, or "traditional," kokeshi hail from the northeastern part of Japan known as the Tohoku region. Tohoku is comprised of Aomori, Akita, Yamagata, Iwate, Miyagi, & Fukushima Prefectures. They are colorfully painted (or bare, in the case of one Nambu-kei kokeshi from Iwate) wooden dolls of female gender that have been around since at least the Edo Period (...
