Post-WWII edition bearing the round 6mm Watanabe publisher's seal at the lower right corner. The artist's black ink signature and red seal are at the lower left. Japanese obidome (sash ornament) with polished jasper top, its natural pattern perfectly resembling a view of a desert with dunes and incoming sandstorm. Obidome is worn on an obi cord that holds the obi sash together, it is the only type of jewelry worn by Japanese women on formal occasions, and could serve as netsuke as well. Amazing natural picture, excellent finish and patina. Metal fitting on the back with two loops for an obi cord. Length 1 1/2 inches.
Vintage Chinese Vietnamese Rosewood and Mother of Pearl box, gorgeous mother of pearl inlay and engraving of a pagoda in a tropical background the corners have a Chinese auspicious symbol. Great condition no losses scratches or scuffs and all inlay is in place there is shrinkage to the lid making it sit slightly off set see images. Size 5.5"3.25" by H 2".
Stoneware blue junyao vase with red splash to one side with a garlic mouth over a short neck with curved shoulders over crackled sides tapering to a flared foot. The base glazed.

A set of Japanese tsuge (boxwood) combs in delicate hand-cut design, ca 1950, never been used. The combs made out of tsuge wood has been known to be gentle on the hair and scalp without causing static. They were treasured by the women and men for many, many centuries. For maintenance of the combs, camellia (tsubaki) oil has been used (but good vegetable oil should work as well?). The color of tsuge deepens as they were used from natural oil from our hair and the camellia oil...

Kashigata (wooden sweet mold,) Sakura (Cherry Blossom) motif; Japan, early 20th C. Paddle-type mold to make 2 pieces sweets. L.14.25"(36cm) x W.3.5"(8.75cm) x H. 0.75"(2cm.) The cherry blossom is a well-known symbol of spring, beauty, and the fleeting nature of life in Japanese culture. Most likely, these molds were used for sweets in the spring season.
