Interesting lot consisting of antique of vintage bronze items, incl. a Thai Buddhist amulet with loop, two Laotian opium weights or animal figurines, and later three burmese bronze weights, 19th./20th. century.

Nice condition.

Large Japanese Showa period circular form burlwood tray with raised sides made from a single piece of wood. 15 7/8” diameter x 2 1/4" high. The raised sides are 3/8" thick. Weighs just over 2 lbs. Likely dates from the first half of the 20th century. Very good overall condition. From the estate of a collector of Japanese mingei in Phoenix, Arizona. The original price tag remains on the bottom.

Japanese woodblock print entitled "Moonlit Night at Miyajima" by the artist Kawase Hasui. The Miyajima Torii Gate sands in the still water. A row of stone lanterns shine their light from the water's edge. Tall pines bend over the quiet beach. From across the lake, more lights can be seen. With black 6mm seal. Publisher: Watanabe Shozaburo. Produced during the lifetime of the artist.

Japanese small format surimono woodblock print by French artist Paul Jacoulet (1902-1960) titled "Chagrins d'Amour. Kusaie, Est Carolines" (Sorrows of Love. Kusaie, East Carolines) published October 26, 1940. The full size image is illustrated on page 60 (plate 70) of “The Prints of Paul Jacoulet” by Richard Miles, 1982 and is described on page 105. A pair of snow shoes made of rice straw which is from Tohoku district in Japan Sea side prefecture such as Yamagata or Akita. In excellent condition. 20th century. L:28cm, W:11cm, H:12cm

Japanese modern era lacquer hibachi. Carved of wood in round form with stacking bands of 5 alternating colors called Koma Urushi (literally translates to spinning top lacquer). Inset with traditional copper lining.

Noh theater wood mask representing the character of Shakumi, a middle-aged woman. The loose strands of hair give her the careworn air of one who has suffered and survived countless trials. Note the slight sag to her cheeks and the creases on either side of her mouth. She often appears in the role of a mother. Japan, early 20th century. Height: 21 cm. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand. A few signs of use, otherwise very good condition.
