Chinese Ming Dynasty Blue & White Porcelain Brush Washer (Ex.Lammers Collection)
This attractive small porcelain jar, a brush washer, was made during the Hongzhi reign (1488 - 1505) of the Ming Dynasty. It is relatively heavily-potted and decorated in underglaze blue of good colour in a pattern featuring scrolling lotus blossoms. Both inner and outer surfaces are coated in a finely-crackled glaze. This attractive and very interesting blue and white porcelain bowl was made in the 16th century. It is decorated in underglaze blue of very good colour. The centre is decorated with a male figure standing next to a deer. The decoration to the outer wall is quite elaborate and includes a varied landscape, two male figures and one female figure. To the base is a mark (not translated).

A fine and very rare bat-shaped porcelain censer with what are apparently bat head feet. We believe that there would originally have been a wood cover secured into the two outer holes and that the incense smoke would have escaped through the three central holes.
This item was made in China for the domestic market as a temple or home alter piece in the early 18th Century, probably during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722).
Condition - excellent - no damages and no restoration.

The last rare Joseon Dynasty Munjado-Chaekgeori combination screen offered for sale was a decade ago at auction. It will likely be at least that long until you see another, if you ever see one for sale again at all. Even most museums have been unable to find one to acquire.
