A fine Arita blue & white porcelain flower vase to be mounted on a wall, kakehana. 18th century.

The flower vase is heavily moulded with a leaping Chinese Lion or karashishi in a landscape of rocks and Tree Peonies, a classic subject in Japanese art known as “Botan-ni-Shishi”, an auspicious subject.

This old kakehana was manufactured in Arita in the mid Edo period, probably for the home market.

With a height of 32 inches, this is a rare and impressive example of early 19th century Imari ware. Both the vase and stand are finely decorated in shades of blue, gold and orange.

Condition is excellent.

This is a very fine and unusual Japanese Satsuma vase with relief figures. The work on this piece is highly detailed and the gold thickly applied. The Dragon and clouds are decorated with silver. The piece is in very good condition will minor wear. The Artist signature is the most worn area on the piece. With magnification it can be seen that it is signed Fuzan but it is very hard to make out. I have included a similar Fuzan mark for comparison. The vase stands 8 1/2 inches tall.

A fine and very rare 'Transitional' vase painted in inky blue depicting a mountain landscape in classical scholars' taste. This is a very fine unsigned Japanese cloisonne vase with a unique form. The enamel and wire work are exquisite. It is not signed but the quality is so good and so unique that the maker is Hayashi. This is a very fine pair of Japanese satsuma vases that stand just 4 1/4 inches tall. Attractive form, enamel colors and very fine details. They look like they have spent most of their lives stored in the box. One has the original sticker and both are signed. The signature looks a bit like the Kozan mark but we are not sure. Some of the larger flowers remind us of work seen on Bizan and Yabu pieces.

Heavy, thick walled vase in cobalt blue cased in crystal, with silvery air traps in a repeating geometric pattern.

The vase stands 8 inches tall and is 4 inches in diameter at the top. the base tapers to 2 1/4 inches.

Beautiful 12 inch tall rose pattern signed “Locke Art” vase. The vase has a rayed pattern on the underside of the foot and an etched dentil pattern on the rim. An unsigned Lobmeyr wine glass with gold and multicolored enameling. The 8 ½ inch tall wine has a notched stem with each notch touched with gold. The cup is enameled in a very typical Lobmeyr pattern of multicolored curlicues above a band of gold enameled with blue and orange jewels. The foot is decorated to match the jewelled gold band on the cup. There is no damage.
