Pleasant crackle style chawan with Rimpa influenced design under and over the glaze. This chawan was made by veteran Kyoto native potter, Suzuki Soji who was a student of Tomimoto Kenkichi. Suzuki's chawan now days can cost 200,000 yen and more.

This chawan is in excellent condition and does not have a box.

This creative and impressive Mughal dagger was made by Ron Frazier (1940-2011) who endeavored to make knives in a distinctly pre-modern style and manner which clearly shows in his knives. This large Hagi tebachi, handled dish is by Scandinavian transplant and Hagi native; Bertil Nils Persson. Finding its inspiration in early Edo pottery, this tebachi is hand formed out of a rich red Hagi clay with a surface that shows a wide array of varying surface textures and hues over the large surface. Measuring 34 x 22 x 16cm this piece is far larger than it sounds and is in perfect condition with its original signed box...

Hand carved calligraphic wood panel by Tsukigata Nahiko, the originator of Oni-Shino pottery. Measuring 79 x 36.5cm and 86.65cm at its widest, this panel has the three kanji carved in high relief, as is the signature with texture forming the surround. The kanji read to the best that I understand, "A Sliver (of the) Moon", a rather poetic sentiment. This panel is in good, original condition and is set up by the artist to hang from a securely fashioned cord for your immediate enjoyment...

Rich, generous and timeless Aka-Raku chawan by veteran descendant of Honami Koetsu; Hon'ami Sokyu. This full and rounded form chawan is reminiscent of chawan from the edo period and was formed by hand molding, tebinari, the traditional manner in which Raku has been made for centuries. This large and imposing Oribe mizusashi was made by long time Mino potter, Hayashi Shotaro. Thrown out of a fine Mino clay, much of the surface was cut away to create a surface of wonderful flat planes and rough areas of faceted clay which was then glaze in Hayashi's rich Oribe glaze. The surface shows a wonderful array of tonal variations with areas of deep greens and thinner areas showing almost to the buff of the clay...

This large and rather colorful kohiki chawan was made by Ogawa Tetsuo a specialist in slips and Korean slipware of which this pot is a classic example. The surface of the teabowl shows off a wide array of colors and visual textures with areas of gohonde fawn spots and a translucent, waxy ash glaze coving the pot. The richness of the surface makes this a rather stunning piece by Ogawa with much more activity than seen in many of his teabowls...
