A 19thC Farrar Batiscan Quebec 4 gallon handled wine jug or crock, for the Marchand & Co spice, wine and liquor merchant. This 18-3/4" tall handled salt glazed stoneware jug still has the cork and it is completely hand thrown. It has a blue floral design identical with other known Farrar examples and it has a blue-wiped impressed legend stating "MARCHAND & CO MARCHANDS EPCIERES VINS ET LIQUEURS BATISCAN 4"...

This porcelain serving dish was produced in France by Theodore Haviland Limoges in the late 19th century. It measures 13 inches long and 6 3/4 inches wide. The porcelain has molded decoration and handles are built into the dish. We know that it is factory decorated since there is an impressed mark as well as a printed mark. The border is turquoise blue. This is an extremely nice example of a Bow porcelain figure of winter from the "Rustic Seasons" group. It depicts an older man wearing a cowled garment, sitting on a mound of rocks, and warming his hands over a brazier. The brazier is set amidst flowers and leaves, with the whole scene raised on four scroll feet.
