I am offering this pretty much as an antique collectable frame (rabbet 15" by 11 1/2", about 17" by 13 1/2" if you were inclined to try to remove what looks like an inner frame). It probably dates to about 1880. For many years it has housed a chromolithograph of sailing craft, "Coming Into Port", by the American luminist marine artist George Curtis (1826-1881). An original chair of the renowned Wiener Werkstatte movement, circa 1905, measuring approximately 35" by 17" by 16 1/2". There are two original labels underneath bearing the names Jakob and Josef Kohn, from Wien (Vienna). In 1904, Josef Hoffmann, one of the founders of the Wiener Werkstatte, designed a furniture line, noted for its simple forms, for the firm of Jakob & Josef Kohn, which actually manufactured the chair. Lobed pewter bowl with an etched scenery of a rocky seascape, Mount Fuji in the background. The surface matted, silvery. Meiji period, c 1900, seal mark to the base. Diameter "6 ¼ / 16 cm. Condition: a black spot to the exterior removed by polishing (cf. pics).

A Scottish wood travelling tobacco or pipe box, wonderfully and fulsomely decorated with penwork. The scene on the top shows two older men arguing or bargaining, in front of what appear to be farm buildings. Under this is "And test Me nhow auld boy" followed by the initials HC. The sides and bottom of the box are decorated with finely drawn rows of leaves...

A very interesting carved and gilded wood panel, found here in Southern California, origin unknown. There are remaining traces of gilding and to a lesser extent, possibly polychrome paint. I have found no writing/labels, and frustratingly, there is no further information traveling with it. The piece measures 15" by 32". I am wondering if it might be of American origin, although in my mind I think it could be French. The wood seems to be pine...

Japanese Two(2) pieces U shape heavy Black Wrought Iron Side Locks, 9" high, 3 1/2" wide(maximum outer measurement, 8 3/4" high, 3" wide, (inner measurement), 1/2" thick, Pin(2 1/2" deep), this set looks like two(2) divided area to put through heavy wood Rod for both sides and carry on two(2) men's shoulder, one in front and one in the back, with original attached heavy duty Iron nails or pins.

An antique finely hand carved wooden box from Northern Thailand. Has hinges so the cover opens and folds back. Size:length 34 cm x width 23 cm x height 20 cm. (13.5" x 9" x 8"). Rare find!

An antique Tibetan storage cabinet made with hand hewn carved wood. Painted serpentine dragons holding sacred jewels in each claw on 11 panels. The Tibetan dragon is a mythical creature that utilizes massive creative energy representing the principles of heaven, change and wealth. There are top and bottom wood hinged center doors.

Age: Late 19th Century (1870-1900)

Dimensions: 59 1/2" Wide x 48 3/4" High x 17 3/4" Deep

A fine old antique gold frame of the 19th century, measuring 27" by 34" by 3" depth, the inner rabbet 18 1/2" by 25 1/2". This frame certainly at one time held a fine painting; there is some hint of there having been a placard. Weight is an impressive 20 pounds; the wood used I believe is heavy oak. There is much evidence of age, moderate wear; but it is in keeping with the age and antiquity of the frame. Currently there is a modern print of a Picasso work inserted into the opening.

This fire screen is mounted on a mahogany tri foot pole. The needlepoint is made of wool and silk. The entire piece measures 54 inches high. The screen is 19 1/2 inches by 26 inches. This dates late 19th century. This item is available for local pickup, only.

Lovely antique Chinese blue and white porcelain gourd shaped vase with charming design of bats flying in the clouds. Perfect condition. Six character mark on recessed bottom. Xuantong 1909-1912, kaishu mark in regular script. Demonstrates clearly a feature that is often called hollow or fractured, line. The decoration of the piece, iron red bats among clouds is in a distinctly different style as compared to similarly decorated pieces of the previous reign...

Small table snuff box made of lacquered papier-maché, the glass lid with reverse engraved and painted decoration. Inside is a shell and two strands of hair. There is no lock; the snuff box was intended not to be carried around in a pocket, but to be placed on a shelf or a table where it displayed well. Probably Scandinavian, made around 1800 or earlier, unusual. Diameter 2" / 5 cm, height ¾ "/ 2 cm. Condition: the mirror glass cracked, wear consistent with age (cf pics).
