A good quality Kakiemon type export plate decorated with a pair of Hoo birds on a rock with flowering bushes. The rim of the dish decorated with a “Birdes in Branches” arabesque with a rather crudely painted Chrysanthemum blooms with birds both sitting and with wings out-stretched. A pair of Edo Period C.1860 shishi wood lion carvings. Quite playful as one looks back at the other in chase. Excellent detail in the carving and very expressive. Carved out of hinoki cypress. This is an original elaborately handcarved softwood corble of a majestic Chinese Fu-Dog or lion dog guardian. Original joints on its top and side that would have kept it into place. There is so much detail in this piece, from the tendrils of the lions' tail draping above its head. Looking above like the rays of the sun. Delicately hollowed and carved xiù qiú ball underneath its front paws. The detail continues to smaller lionlike creature riding upon its back...

Death mask, made from a thin bronze sheet subtly formed as a man's broad face, chased with eyes, a nose, mouth and rounded cheeks, as well as a mustache. Tiny attachment hole on each side of the top (one missing). Fine slightly encrusted green, blue and red patina. China, Liao Dynasty (907-1125). Height: 18,5 cm. The mask is nicely mounted on a custom stand. A few small areas missing, tiny hole on the nose, otherwise good condition...

Depicting several generations of high ranking officials and their wives. Bright colours and very fine painting. Condition: age wear, paint loss, cracks, traces of repainting. The painting had been remounted. Personally I would remove the borders and have the painting framed. Dimensions: the painting 95 x 150 cm, the scroll 109 x 210 cm.

An interesting and well-shaped tea bowl, this Meiji piece surely has stories to tell. The gold repairs traversing one side of the bowl are extensive and skillfully applied, nicely complimenting the dark ferrous clay and flaxen glaze. Many find such repairs quite attractive and in this case they clearly add an extra dimension to this lovely work...

Late Ming Dynasty, ca. 1600

Glazed with turquoise, amber and green enamels, this laughing Buddha holds his large belly with one hand, and clasps a rosary in the other. The back is unglazed and a stabilized hairline extends from the foot to the top of the base. There is a collection inventory number incised on the rear base and there is a small chip to the foot. It is accompanied by a later carved wooden base.

Height: 11 in., Width: 6 ¾ in.

Extremely rare. Excellently potted porcelain body with a lipped everted rim, covered with an excellent Celadon-coloured glaze. The base unglazed. Yue ware ( Yueyao ) Tang Dynasty - Five Dynasties ( 10th. century ). Diameter: 14,4 cm. H : 8,3 cm. Condition: One crack and one filled "split-off" to the inside of the rim ( please see the enlargement ). Excellent glaze condition. The body despite the short crack, still with a very nice "ping-tone" when tapped.

Depicting a high ranking mandarin with his three wives. Dimensions: the painting 89x137 cm, the scroll 103x197 cm. Condition: expected age wear, paint loss, cracks, traces of repainting, remounted on a new scroll.
