Very old mask of Defender of the Buddhist Faith, inspired from the God Mahakala, with a terrifying expression meant to ward off evil spirits. Wood, with nice slightly encrusted glossy dark patina. Himalayan Region, Bhutan or Tibet, 18th century, probably earlier. Height: 11" (28 cm). The mask is nicely mounted on a custom wood stand. Very good condition. NOTE: Together with masks # 1-0761 and # 1-0762, this mask was acquired from an old American collection.

18C Chinese Yongzheng Export Iron Red Boy Goat Cup and Saucer The cup and saucer are painted in iron red heightened with gilt. The flower-shaped saucer and cup are decorated with a boy playing with goats opposite a prunus branch and rockwork. The center of the cup is painted with a flower symbol. Size: Cup: 8.4 diam. 3.9 cm tall Saucer: 12.8 cm diam. Condition: Several hairlines on the saucer shown in the pictures. Cup in excellent condition.

A superb early Qing Shunzhi - Kangxi wucai baluster jar, this large jar has straight neck, broad shoulders with sides tapering towards and flat unglazed base. This jar is painted in under glaze blue and over glaze red, green, and yellow over glaze enamel, there is scenery of human motif in four panel radiating on each side, neck with flower motif.
Jar is in good condition with faint hairline at the rim, no chip, no restoration.

Another wonderful and large Chinese Buddha Bronze statue, approx. 18th century (Qing Dynasty), sitting on a square base, with a height of 38 cm and a width of 24 cm, weight 4,95 KG.

It is a Japanese antique uchishiki of silk (chirimen) of the hand yuzen dye tsutsugaki of the highest class in Edo period. The bold composition of the paulownia is impressive with the Chinese phoenix. Yuzen kimono is also very polite. There are two small repair marks. This rural Mongolian bucket is made from lemon wood and was used daily to draw water from the local village well. Truely an ethnographic relic with original iron fittings, and evidence of constant use and old repairs. It is both large and heavy. The diameter of the bucket is 18" and the bucket alone is 14" deep, add another 11" for the handle and iron toggle fitting. The weight is approx 15 lbs. Originally made about 250 yrs ago and probably used constantly for a couple of centuries.

A dish in the form of an auspicious Manchurian Red Crowned Crane decorated in green, black and iron red enamels with gilding. Dating Kyoho in period circa 1710-30. The dish measures approximately 17cm in wingspan and approximately 13 cm from tail to head. Round, footed bowl-form base and tapering stepped lid are heavily cast in bronze and then finished by lathe-turning to enhance the concentric stepped pattern on the lid and the incised rings encircling the base. The bronze retains its natural patina from age and use. There are areas of reddish-brown and small patches or verdigris on the exterior. The interior of the lid shows overall verdigris with numerous patches of brown encrustation...

A Namasu or small serving bowl in revived Kakiemon style decorated with a depiction of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove in low moulded relief; here represented by just two of them. The Sages were synominous with a hedonistic lifestyle of drinking and poetry. The foliate rim of the dish with a fuchi beni, brown glaze. The central roundel in the well of the bowl decorated with a Namban or Tojin style figure of a European with a two legged long tailed dog like creature...
