Done with very fine details demonstrating a high level of craftsmanship. Hollow modeled. Signed with seal on the back: He Chaozong. Late Qing to early Republican Period, ca. 1900–1930. H 16 cm. The nine-dragon design on this charger is after a Xuande prototype, where dishes were painted with a side-facing five-clawed dragon amongst crashing waves in the centre, the cavetto decorated with four dragons hunting the golden ball. Magnificent antique Chinese Wucai procaine large baluster vase, 17th century, transitional period, circa 1650.

The vase is decorated to the body with finely hand-painted four large lobed panels with a band of Ruyi heads, all reserved against a trefoil ground of iron red.
