Fine Chinese porcelain Kangxi Period baluster vase; features garlands of Peony florals; hatched diaper and ruyi lappets on the shoulder; good condition

This is a freely painted swatow dish with a pair of mandarin duck and flower spray in the centre of the dish, with tendrils around the shallow cavetto and flowers in cartouches on the rim with diaper boarders. The glaze is opaque, thick, and covers the body and foot. There are sand grits around and inside the base of the foot rim. Cir. Late Ming dynasty, 17th century.

There is no hairline crack, glaze fritting, chip, repair or restoration...

Porcelain decorated with floral spray on the center, a peony scroll on the outside, glazed base. PERIOD : Middle Ming 16 th Century. MEASUREMENTS: 15 cm wide, 6.5 cm tall. CONDITION: chips to the rim, short hairline; free from restoration.

From our Shipwreck Ceramics Collection, a charming blanc de chine Guanyin from the Vung Tau Shipwreck circa 1690-1700 (Kangxi Period), one of only 30 ever recovered from this wreck and in this sense quite rare. The Vung Tau Shipwreck refers to a cargo ship of Chinese ceramics that sank in the waters of the Can Doa Islands, nearby to Vung Tao Vietnam between 1690 and 1700, where it had briefly stopped to re-supply on its way to Batavia (Jakarta Indonesia)...

Late Yuan dynasty, mid 1300s

This small but well-proportioned guan-form jar with broad shoulder tapering to a narrow base is stoutly potted as were many such late Yuan porcelains intended for export to Southeast Asia and the Philippines...

Song Dynasty, 1100s / 1200s

This model of a granary, molded in two parts, has a removable lid that represents the thatched roof over the cup-like base. It is covered overall in a clear greenish glaze with areas of fine crackle and evidence of burial. The interior is unglazed, and the underside of the lid is also unglazed. This piece was used as an item of internment as an offering to the deceased for use in the afterlife...

Height approximately 17 cm. There are few hairlines. More pictures are available. In good condition.

Porcelain decorated with standing phoenix and floral on the center and four flower sprays on the cavetto, unglazed base. PERIOD : late Ming (1566-1643 AD) MEASUREMENTS: 19 cm wide. CONDITION: very good, no chips, cracks, hairlines and free from restorations. Good sound when tapping with finger tips.

It has a hairline crack (about 6 cm in length) at the lip along with small chips. It also has stains, glaze crazing, and surface wears and scratches (as seen in the photos).

A very rare round, domed ceramic chop ink container with paintings of "a hundred boys." The background is off-white with the paintings of the rotund little boys at play in cobalt blue. The surface is heavily crazed. Kangxi seal mark.

Period: Ching Period 1662 - 1722 AD

Size: Height = 5.8 cm (2-1/4 inches, Diameter = 13.8 cm (5-7/16 inches)

Condition: The bottom has chips along the rim, possibly from trying to pry it open at one time. Can be restored...

Two pieces of very nice and symbolic shard from the Ming dynasty. The first shard to the left, has a coin design in the centre of the bowl with the lotus lappet surrounding it. The second shard, to the right, shows a lotus flower in full bloom. The lotus is considered a scared flower to the buddhist - a symbol of purity and perfection. In general it is a symbol of summer and fruitfullness...
