In Tang dynasty many sansai figures were received in tomb rooms and likewise many painted unglazed pottery figure what had been making from ancient times were received too. This figure is very excellent and with good condition. Considering that this figure is greeting with Chinese style, this person is supposed as a Sogdian delegate. The handsome head of the Buddha, Very finely carved with serene expression. With slightly smiling mouth, downcast eyes, large arched eyebrows in relief, straight nose and pierced elongated earlobes. A spending antique Chinese Kwan Yin sculpture made in the late Ming Dynasty. Kwan Yin or Guanyin and Avalokiteshvara is the Bodhisattva of compassion. Here she stands samabhanga on a simple base with robes flowing and clinging naturally over and to her long, slender body. Her feet peek from beneath her robes.

Her hands are held with her thumb and middle finger touching in the vitarka mudra of teaching. Her hair is piled high on her head. Her gaze serene and slightly downcast...

Ming Dynasty Chinese Wood Sculpture of a General on Horseback, with original pigments. 11 x 5 x 3.25 inches, 28 x 13 x 8 cm. Purchased from Askenasi in Paris in 1978 by Irwin Hersey, renowned author on Asian and primitive art, and publisher of the Primitive Art Newsletter in the 1970s. Irwin Hersey was an advisor to museums and prominent collectors, and vetted pieces for many of the international tribal art fairs and Asian art fairs.

Fabulous Chinese antique bronze Guanyin Buddha statue, Qing dynasty Kangxi period, around 17th century. The Guanyin is sitting on a base, wearing a long robe, two eyes are looking down, holding a bottle.

Smooth surface, wonderful and exquisite carving. On the back you will find a Kangxi mark. It's a rare statue, very special. No repairs.

Very rare marble torso of a Buddha or Bodhisatva, finely carved with lots of detail. China, Tang Dynasty (618-906). Excavated in the southeast of the Shanxi Province. H. 17 cm, W. 15 cm.

The Chinese god of longevity is depicted standing holding a peach branch laden with fruit in his left hand. The peach is the symbol of immortality. The artist has represented Shoulao slightly bent by the weight of his years, his gait is hesitant and his step seems reduced and slow. The left arm rests on the kidneys to relieve the pain. The details are finely sculpted, the hairs of the beard are precisely incised. The facial expression is well rendered...

Probably Tibet. Miniature Buddha in cast bronze gilded with the mercury technique. Under the base curiously we can see a Vajra cast in relief. The sculpture is simple rustic, the details are little or not chiseled, however the gilding is of the best quality, very thick and tends to flake.Traces of pigment on hairs and eyes. The style of the base with elephant and Buddhist Lions in front and crosses at the back, makes me think of the 15th century style. No restaurations...
