Antique Mughal Indian Islamic cast bronze water pipe (Huqqa) base North India or Deccan, 17th-18th century.

It has a drop-shaped form that tapers to a bulbous point. The octagonal beveled sides have an aperture on top and the shoulder, and the top is embellished with a band of concentric fluted patterns.

MEASUREMENTS: Height: 15.7 cm (6.18 inches).​

CONDITION: It displays signs of wear and age with a dark brown patina on the exposed areas, a result of centuries of use.

A cup of rounded form on a short brass foot with narrow brass rim, formed out of perfectly joined tapered sections of mother-of-pearl plaques, radiating from a central disk, and secured by metal pins.

Small bronze Indian votive sculpture of the elephant headed Hindu god Ganesha, known as the Remover of Obstacles, beautifully intact with all four arms holding attributes including his goad or ax and sweets of which he is sampling with his trunk, wonderful detail and form with elongated head, covered with vermilion remnants, 19th century. Size: 3" high x 2 1/2" wide x 1 1/2" deep.

Unusual 18th/19th century small votive Indian bronze sculpture of Nandi - the vehicle of Shiva, or sometimes considered to be a form of Shiva himself. It rests in its usual position wearing rich trappings surrounded by numerous offerings. Very neat casting and detailing, great patina, compressed dust in crevices and traces of sandalwood paste used during worship, bottom is covered with red paste. Very good devotional object, wonderful feel of age to the piece. Length 1 3/8 inches.

Antique Indian Mughal album leaf miniature painting most likely of the Emperor Jahangir on horseback. A halo and bejeweled crown imply his Imperial rank. Jahangir was ambitious about taking over the reign of his father, Akbar the Great, and the two were at odds until reconciling later in life. Wealthy residences had a protected area where all the women of the house lived. This scene takes place just inside the antahpur (inner courtyard) of such an area...

Antique Indian small statue of Crowned Ganesh, the Hindu elephant headed deity is the remover of obsticals, seated on a lotus thrown, beautifully worn, 17th/18th century. Size: 12" high x 7 1/2" wide x 3" deep.

Late 18th to early 19th century silver tribal Indian amulet with low relief depiction of a warrior on his horse and a seated Goddess. Most probably it represents Baba Ramdi - a local folklore hero who singled-handedly saved his village from an army of bandits. The seated image appears to be that of the warrior Goddess Durga. Pendants of that type are known as patris, they were made and worn by the tribal gypsy people of Rajasthan and Gujarat for good luck and protection...

This male figure, molded in the manner of the English Staffordshire tradition, carries a swooning lady on his shoulders, with a snake hanging from his neck. Facial features and clothing details are painted in colorful overglaze enamels. On the base is a factory mark in an oval cartouche. There is some wear, soiling, and minor glazing flaws, but no repairs or damages.

18th century Indian bronze Shiva shrine from Western India in a form of a courtyard, the family of Shiva seated around a lingam, including his wife Parvati, their son Ganesha, and Nandi bull at the entrance of the shrine. The back halo has the protective naga (cobra) with its hood wide open, and there is a pile of offerings in the front right corner of the shrine. Nice piece with good casting and detailing, good patina with accumulated sooty dust from incense, very pleasant feel of age...

Incredible Indo/Persian hand painted, oil on paper, manuscript page, depicting a courting maiden with attendant and suitor with calligraphy. Circa late 19th century period. Mounted in gold and black painted frame with matting. It measures approx. 10" height x 7 1/4" width. Condition is consistent with age.

Indian demon chaser mask in bronze repousse from Karnataka in five parts: head, headband, ears and a tube within the head to permit the mounting on a pole. Backside with red paint. A round, convex shield with four central bosses. Decorated with raised design of tendrils, embellished with black and red enamel, and some tin plated areas. Reverse with four attaching bronze rings and a velvet pad. Compare with a similar shield in the Royal Ontario museum. Condition: few losses to enamel and wear to tinned areas, reverse with some residue of solder. Dimension: diameter: 28 cm.

A carving in grey-black stone depicting Surya holding lotuses, riding a chariot drawn by seven horses, each depicting a day of the week and named after the seven meters of Sanskrit prosody, Gayatri, Brihati, Ushnih, Jagati, Trishtubha, Anushtubha and Pankti. His charioteer is Arun, the dawn, brother of Garuda and he has no legs.
