18th century small Indian bronze votive sculpture depicting Shridevi - a form of Lakshmi, the consort of Lord Vishnu. She is holding an open lotus in her left hand. Very nice casting - see her graciously bent figure, beautiful warm brown patina, high devotional wear with traces of sandalwood powder in crevices, overall in great condition for a votive piece. Height 2 3/8 inches.

Originally part of a full sized Tibetan adult costume, this piece was cut down to complete a childs festival costume. Decorated with turquoise, coins, tassels and silver ornaments, this type of textile accessory would often be attached to the elaborate headdress or hat and drape down the back to complete the wearers costume. A Tibetan Bronze figure of Shakyamuni, 19th century or earlier.
Buddha sat in a mediative pose, one hand in his lap, the other connects to the earth. The head has been dressed with gold paint, the hair exhibits traces of blue. A good quality sculpture that seems to have had a hard life and has seen better days. There is a bruise to each upper arm, one larger than the other and some distortion to the bottom of the lotus base.

This is a large and early Buddhist applique textile, dating to no later than the mid-19th century. The design consists of a double-dorje centering a "yin-yang" emblem, representing the masculine and feminine principles of the universe. The piece is complete and intact with minimal wear as one would expect. It measures just over 30" in diameter. Textiles such as this one are exceedingly rare and seldom found.

This is a well-painted Tibetan thanka depicting the Medicine Buddha. The painting is unframed and measures 10" X 12". Ample gold highlights, including the "aureole" surrounding the Buddha. Minor rubbing, as can be seen in the photos. In need of a good cleaning. Inscription on the reverse.

This is an exceptionally well carved mask, dating, most probably, to the early 20th century. The artist who created this mask has invested it with a powerful and menacing presence, as the photos will, hopefully, show. The piece measures just over 11 inches in width and is intact, carved from a single tree fungus. A rare and powerful survival.

An exceptionally detailed, well cast bronze devotional lamp ("Sukunda") depicting Ganesh (Ganesha)flanked by two lions, seated underneath a seven-headed cobra whose sinuous back proceeds down the lamp and is integrated into the handle, which is surmounted by a kneeling figure, possibly the devotee who commissioned the piece. In exceptional original condition. The piece stands some 12-3/4" in height and is quite heavy. A beautiful and substantial devotional item.

This Mongolian oil lamp was made in 3 sections, which were then "welded" together. From the 3 seam marks, it appears that the base was made from 3 parts which were joined and hammered into shape.
