The saucers: 1 perfect, 3 with 1 hairline, 1 with 3 hairlines, 1 damaged with piece re-stuck and a hairline...

A superb early Qing Shunzhi - Kangxi wucai baluster jar, this large jar has straight neck, broad shoulders with sides tapering towards and flat unglazed base. This jar is painted in under glaze blue and over glaze red, green, and yellow over glaze enamel, there is scenery of human motif in four panel radiating on each side, neck with flower motif.
Jar is in good condition with faint hairline at the rim, no chip, no restoration.

A thinly potted porcelain bowl, brilliantly enamelled. Famille Rose, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period ( 1736 - 1795 ). Diameter : 14,2 cm. H : 7,2 cm. Condition : One very minute rim frit ( 0,5 mm ) and a short hairline, nearly invisible to the naked eye ( there still is a nice "ping-tone" when the bowl is tapped ).

A rare early 18th Century Chinese porcelain coffee can decorated with "famille rose" enamels. This item was made for export to Europe during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1736-1735). Condition - excellent - there is some wear to the over glaze iron red decoration but no damages and no restoration...

A rare huanghuali scholar's box with it's original shiny varnish and original brass hardware. China, late Ming to early Qing, ca. 17th/18th century. Dimensions: L. 31 cm, W. 16 cm, H.10 cm. Condition: excellent original condition, only one brass loop at the front plate missing, a small piece of hardware on the lid missing and one of the wooden feet missing.

A porcelain plate painted in shades of under glaze cobalt blue, in traditional Chinese taste, depicting two ducks swimming on a pond surrounded with aquatic plants. On the base is a six character reign mark of the Kangxi emperor within a double circle which reads "Da Qing Kangxi Nian Zhi" ("Great Qing Kangxi Year Made). This plate was made in the late 17th Century, circa 1690, during the reign of the Kangxi emperor (1662-1722)...

Small tripod miniature incense burner of simple form in cast bronze. The two handles are unusually very thin. Below we can see the 6 characters of the reign of Xuande of the Ming Dynasty. The bronze is old, the beautiful patina attests to it. However, it is difficult to date it exactly. Usually the bronzes bearing the mark of Xuande are from the 17th century. A wooden base and lid were added later, probably in the 19th century...

An attractive Chinese soapstone carving of the Daoist Immortal Zhong Hanli. This item was made circa 1790-1820 either late in the Qianlong reign or during the reign of the Jaiqing Emperor. A small lotus form moulded porcelain saucer dish painted centrally with a man on horseback bordered with eight radiating lotus leaves and flowers and above each is a stylized crane with opened wings.

A rare, large architectural Buddhist temple carving of a Dragon (Ryu), with reverse glass painted eye. The high relief carvings show the dragon's body coiled behind clouds of smoke and waves. Its serpentine body reveals his 3 appendages with classic three claw anatomy. The relief is solid keyaki "zelkova serrata" wood with the original red patina. The dragon which symbolizes the heavenly realm has control of rain, fire, and earth...

A very nice quality Japanese chawan, rice bowl, of conventional form dating to the Kyoho period, c.1716-1736, decorated with an auspicious pattern, kisshon-ga, featuring a ring motif containing auspicious clouds, painted in a combination of gilt and iron red wash, and Karahana, so called Chinese or “Tang flowers”, painted in a striking pallet of iron red, green, yellow enamels and gilding. The base of the bowl decorated with a Karakusa arabesque inset with Lotus flowers...

It is presented on its wooden base, also Chinese, which is either original or made during the 19th century. The base is left unglazed. No mark. A chip on the edge followed by a crack. From our Chinese Polychrome Collection, a fine Rose-Verte porcelain dish, Yongzheng Period (1723-1735), well-painted in the center depicting an elegant lady, a young boy, and a deer carrying peaches on its back signifying longevity. Bordered on the cavetto with floral sprays, and dressed on the rim with iron oxide.

Rose-Verte is a less commonly encountered version of the Famille Rose and Famille Verte palettes...

This very well designed and carved wood (boxwood) netsuke is 1 ¾” high, 2” wide and 1 ½” thick. It depicts three pods of a Japanese lantern plant (some people call it a Chinese lantern). Two big lanterns and one small lantern are arranged along a stem with a curly leaf which has a few insect bites. It is dated late 18th century and it is not signed. It is in excellent condition.
