This is tsutsugaki & handwriting fireman's cotton coat sashiko hanten coat of a splendid firefighter of the late Tokugawa period of the Edo era(1800-1867). A fight of kawanakajima is a design. It is a very high technique. A samurai (takeda shingen and uesugi kenshin) and a horse are drawn and are also the uplifting feeling and the excitement which seem to begin to move shortly. One(1) cup has one(1) glaze hairline about 1" long, barely visible, and some sand marks while firing in the kiln inside the cups.

The two points carved in scarce translucent hardstone, not silex. They can probably be dated to the 2nd.-1st. millenium BC. Very hard material and amazing that they could manage to make such refined artifacts of this size...

A Japanese green glazed Awaji pottery water dropper in the form of a dog. The dog measures about 2 1/4" long x 1 1/2" high and dates to the early 20th Century. There is a small chip on the dog's lip; otherwise it is damage free. The asking price includes shipping within the USA.

Antique Chinese low rectangular table made of carved lacquer in the tixi technique and decorated with guri "sword-pommel pattern". The lacquer is applied in multiple thin coats of alternating black and red then carved down to reveal the layers. The underside of the table is carved with a four character mark.

This is a very well carved early 20th century ivory fan. The front is carved as grapes and leaves; the back and ribs are plain. The loop which holds the fan ribs together also is made of ivory. It is 7 ¾ inches long and 13 ½ inches wide (open). The silk ribbon is a replacement. It is in great condition.
