Kiyohime was a daughter of an innkeeper whose advances on a monk were not reciprocated, so her love turned into wrath, and she trapped him under a temple bell, turned into a demonic dragon and melted the bell killing the monk...

Chinese hard stone brush washer in the form of a flattened flower pod, edged with scrolling vines and flowers.

Very large tile in the shape of (and virtually in the size of) a handscroll decorated in underglaze blue with a crashing wave and a full moon. The image is surrounded by borders of geometric flowers and medallions filled with a phoenix. Some of the phoenixes looks left, others look right. Medallions colored in underglaze pink and yellow.

A very rare 18th Century QING DYNASTY BLUE & WHITE PORCELAIN TEAPOT, WITH INTEGRATED GILDED ELEMENTS. It depicts a multi participant scene in a Chinese Court. Antique Korean bowl with crackle celadon glaze. The bowl's interior is incised with design of flowers and filigree, with a line incision just below the rim. The outer body is slightly ribbed, tapering to the recessed foot.

Antique Japanese tsuba (hand guard for samurai katana) decorated with a monkey peeking though the bamboo rails of a cage or gate. Often occurring in Japanese folk tales, the monkey generally symbolizes a trickster. Since tsuba were often a warrior's source of personal expression, it is likely this monkey held specific significance to the blade's owner.

Age: Meiji Period (1868-1912)

Ivory netsuke with amber patina depicting a seated child playing with a turtle while a cat climbs onto his shoulder. Signed Komin 虎眠 within a rectangular reserve under the base. Period: Meiji end of 19th century. Dimensions: 3 x 3.5 x 3.5 cm. Conservation status: Excellent condition

An ornate silver betel box with open-work patterns of curling tendrils. The body and lid each have five panels with high relief work depicting 10 different scenes of ancient Burma. The top of the domed lid has a lotus blossom. The bottom is hammered with the date and occasion for the piece.

Antique Japanese small ko tansu (personal chest) made of kiri (paulownia) wood. The top portion has a compartment opened by a pair of sliding doors. Below this is a series of drawers of various sizes: three small on the right and two medium sized drawers on the left. The very bottom of the chest has one full-width drawer. Hardware includes warabite shaped drawer pulls.

This is a heavy Chines necklace which was worn by the Dong ethnic minority women. It can be worn and also makes a very impressive display artifact.

The bib front and back are domed to a thickness of about 1 inch at the center and the piece spans over 10 inches side to side. The weight of the piece (approx 2 lbs)indicates that the piece is definately not hollow

Antique Chinese inlaid silver opium lamp with elegant geometric open designs. Its sides have repeating Chinese characters and cute figures with remnants of cloisonné. Signature on bottom. 19th century or early 20th. Size: 3.25" height, 3" width

Description:

A celadon ewer or water dropper was intriguingly mold as chicken pot.
By cute-looking spout and simple-form wings, the porcelain pot was applied with glass-sheen glaze all over the surface.
On the unglazed bottom, the dense-feel clay was revealed and was with adhesives of burial earth.
Crackles and abrasions were resulted from incursions too.
It was kept in very fine condition.
The tint of the glaze in the pictures is a bit biased than in real.

A beautiful Chinese snuff bottle in pebble-form carved from white-black mottled jade. The stopper is made from coral or coral-imitating glass, with bone spoon. The flask needs standing help. Condition: few traces of usage. Dimension: c. 6.3 cm height.

A good condition Five dynasties yue green glaze ewer, rounded side with up raising spout and curve handle, ewer body with vertical ribbing, covered in good green yue glaze.
Ewer is in good condition no chip no crack no restoration, minor fritt at the tip of the spout.

By vibrant posture, the fierce bird spreads her wings when resting on the rock peak.

War fan, gunbai uchiwa, made of bronze clad wood, in the shape of a butterfly. In low relief on front and back the text Hachiman Daibosatsu, surrounded by generic family crests in the shape of quinces. Hachiman is a war deity. These fans were traditionally handled by samurai commanders to direct his troops in battle. It is also a symbol of power. Japan, Meiji era, late 19th century.

Ancient European, Celtic Hallstatt culture, from the late Bronze Age, dating back to approximately 1200-800 B.C. It is a well-preserved example of a bronze socketed spearhead. The spearhead is superbly cast and hand-finished, featuring a faceted petaloid blade head with a thick midrib that tapers to a point. The blade has a hollow tapered socket that bisects it to the tip, and there are two pierced holes below the blade on each side, designed for attachment to a spear shaft.
