Very rare architectural element beautifully carved in the shape of a celestial being, maybe Garuda, flying and holding a vessel in his hands. Wood, with dark-brown patina. Nepal, 18th century, maybe earlier. Height: 14,5 cm. The piece is nicely mounted on a custom metal stand. Old insect infestation (treated, no danger), some losses, otherwise very good condition.

An antique bronze rain drum with natural patina from the F Knoll Collection. Country of origination is Laos. Top features a bas relief in the concentric circles with families of stacking frogs on each of four positions. Elephant figurals shown marching up to each handle. The center displays a 12 pointed sun.

A very rare scroll weight resp. paper weight made from glass and painted with a very pleasing romantic landscape . This painting is done in a typical Qianlong manner on a opaque white glaze and is covered with a thick layer of transparent glaze. Qianlong Period ( 1736 - 1795 ) On the back side of the piece is something like a very small signature which can be seen on the last enlargement. L : 17,5 cm. B : 3,3 cm. H : 1,2 cm. Condition : Perfect.

Buddha in very heavy cast bronze. Never been gilded. Very nice natural brown patina. Very well known model of the Kien-long period, which usually are gilded and marked with the reign and sometimes dated and which are always in embossed copper (see an example in my collection n°10). The one presented here is in cast bronze.

The central reserve, mikomi, window, containing geometrically arranged stylised Bamboo, take, Bamboo shoots and grasses with mist or clouds in Kumo finger form painted in underglaze blue...

A namasu or serving dish of unusual quadrilobed form with scalloped suhama style rim; a stylization of a wave washed beach. An auspicious form referencing Horai-san, the isle of the Immortals and therefore a wish for a long life.
The bowl is decorated with a central mon of a stylised Lotus motif, perhaps also containing elements of the aoi-mon, and karakusa. Surrounded by four panels containing an unusual four toed Water dragon emerging from stylised waves...

An Hirado incense burner of squat globular form with three scroll feet and lion mask handles with a high domed reticulated cover surmounted by a Shishi and ball filial. The body of the koro decorated in underglaze blue with a Chinese “ko sometsuke” style landscape.
The censer is in good condition without chips, restoration, but there are some firing flaws notably to the juncture of the legs and to the body of the koro, and a minor firing crack to the rim...
