This is a beautiful example of an old Kyoto Yuzen dyeing. In this kimono, you can see the white lines around the designs, the very characteristic of Yuzen dye. This is where the rice paste is used to resist the dye and is later washed off. The dye on the silk bleeds. By outlining or covering the design area with the paste, the dye artists can work with the design more freely in detail than in the older pre-Yuzen method, which simply uses dip dying and/or embroidery...
This superb ivory carving of a Chinese legendary figure Tie Gui Li is a late 19th or early 20th century product. It is 11 3/4” tall (including base); without the base it is 10” high, 2 3/4” wide and 2 1/8” in depth. The statue presents a legendary Chinese character who is a member of the eight immortals. A beautiful green English balustroid wine glass with a hollow stem. The cup bowl is over a shoulder cylinder knop which sits atop an egg knop. The stem is finished off with a true baluster knop above a high domed foot.
The glass is of lead metal, is 6 1/16 inches tall, with a bowl diameter of 2 5/16 inches and a foot diameter of 2 13/16 inches. Perfect condition with no restorations.
Note: Glasses of this type were primarily sold as export to the continental market in the 1760 - 1770 period.

A very rare and unusual large Chinese scroll painting done in the Japanese style of a bird in a cage with a bamboo tree and netting. Some gold leaf work on the leaves. The wooden weight on the bottom of the scroll has carved bone tips. Comes with original signed box. Age: 19th century. Size: L.213.5cm. W.44cm. Condition: Very good. No repairs.

Of the over 10,000 artifacts that the late world famous Dr. Allen Heflin found, this little miniature hand-molded ceramic female figurine ranks among the rarest. It is from the unattributed Preclassic Period, C1200-900BC. It is a mere 1 1/2" long and in superb condition except for a small ding on the front headdress and small dings to both back feet. It still has significant traces of red and white pigment. Heflin found this little treasure in Cuautitlan, Mexico and is so noted on the back...
