Chinese Qing Dynasty sang de boeuf (ox blood) bowl. Qian Long (1736~1795) mark on the bottom. It is 4 ½ inches tall and 7 inches in diameter. Excellent condition.
This is very rare Shibori Kimono produced in Akita Asamai area for Edo period.
This is dyed with a natural indigo plant carefully.
As for this, a pattern is Eba-gara. Three carps swim in the water like a brick.
In the Hanada-colored ground, three bold carps and waterweeds with the force are expressed in indigo dyeing Shibori.
This cotton is spun by hand...

A Fine antique African Diviner Janus Slit Gong Drum (Mukoku- Ngoombu), Yaka, D.R. Congo/Angola late 19th or first half of the 20th century. Finely carved drum forming a hollowed cylindrical body with a slit at the front side, surmounted by a Janus head on a short neck with large, pointed nose, protruding oval eye. This magnificent handcrafted Art Nouveau figural brass letter opener is the nicest one I have seen, with intricate detailed "Spirit of Life" maiden wearing a flowing, draped gown, one arm resting on back of head, the other catching her windswept gown, standing on a base of sinewy bark surrounded by clover, circa 1890's, very heavy. Early 18th century tea bowl and saucer, decorated in "imari" style in under glaze blue and over glaze iron red, depicting four-clawed dragons amongst cloud scrolls in pursuit of flaming pearls. This item was made for export to Europe during the reign of the Yongzheng emperor (1723-1735). Condition - there is a 0.6 inch (1.5 cm) hair line running from the saucer dish rim (see enlargements 5 and 6); there is the usual rim fritting and there is wear to the over glaze gilding...
