Ming Dynasty, Swatow ware porcelain dish covered with a pale grey glaze and with overglaze enamel Arabic inscriptions. Diameter : 19,7 cm. Condition : Broken into 2 parts and rather successfuly re-glued because the crack is inconspicuously and there is still a nice sound when tapped.

The painting was attributed to Shao Mi (1592-1642). Shao Mi was a Chinese landscape painter, calligrapher, and poet during the Ming Dynasty. A Chinese Shiwan stoneware fanghu vase with a jun glaze, late Ming/early Qing dynasty. The hollow tube handles associate this type of vase with the arrow game pastime but this example, given the small diameters involved would be unsuitable. The glaze is a transmutation glaze and its colour is decided by the kiln conditions at the peak temperature.

A rare and unusual Arita dish made for export to the West decorated with the subject of a Chinese Lady and her attendant viewing Plum blossom. It is probably adapted from a Chinese transitional original. The dish measures 8.5 inches in diameter and is in good condition with cracks, chips or restoration, except for some light crazing to a portion of the reverse and some glaze skip along the rim. A rare and early baluster champagne glass featuring an everted lip cup bowl over a hollow inverted baluster knop. Finishing the stem is a basal knop over a high domed and folded foot. The height of this gem is 4 1/4 inches, and it has no condition issues whatsoever.

Although this type form was also made slightly later, the thinly blown dark metal strongly suggests a late 17th century date.
