A Nezumi Shino covered box or jar. Probably a mukozuke (but for which we are not familiar with examples accompanied by a cover.) White slip inlaid into incised decoration under the warm, gray glaze - conspicuous on the cover but not so much in decoration on the sides of the box where contrast does not succeed as well. A pleasant "swipe" of white slip under the cover provides a bit of a "surprise"...
An antique okinawan incense container decorated with a lacquer and inlayed mother of pearl depicting a dragon appearing from clouds. Circa 19th Century. Mother-of-pearl inlay, which is known Raden in Japan was first introduced to Japan during Nara period (710-784). The technique was popularly used with lacquer for artworks such as instruments. Quirky glass ring emulating agate. This piece came from China but possibly is a trade object. I acquired this in a lot of other ancient pieces. A conservative dating to this is Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and guarantees it to this period. There is one crack as well as some bubble burst pitting on the surface. Outer D: 2.8cm and inner D: 1.9cm.

This is an extremely rare Egyptian wood carving of the god Ptah-Sokar-Osiris with a plumed crown and ram horns. It dates to 664-525 BC. These are two wooden miniature Fudos ( Cetaka ) who is the incarnate of Dainichi Nyorai, the highest ranking Buddha. It is said that he can change evil minds of demons and make them good. He has an expression of rage, holding a sword in the right hand, the kensaku ( originally a trap for birds or small animals ) in the left hand ( Both are lost of these Fudos ). It is beautiful silk of the dyer's saffron dyeing. A cloud and the applique of the Chinese phoenix which I write the kimono by hand and dyed are on. It has a few stains. However, it does not stand out. It does not have damage and is in a very good state.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in France by the Samson studio in the late 19th century. The saucer has a diameter of 5 3/8 inches and the cup is 2 1/8 inches high. The set is made of fine translucent porcelain. It is elaborately hand decorated and gilded. There are colorful birds of paradise surrounded by greenery.
Elegant scrolled borders encircle the rims of the cup and saucer.
There are gilded accents on the rims and handle. It is a delight to see.

Pair of Qilin, a Chinese mythical beast sometimes associated with giraffes or Camelopard. Polychrome glaze on clay, with fine detailing. Bottom of the pair contains a seal reading: Qianlong Nianzhi which would be from the mid to late 18th century. However in reality the piece was made during the 19th century.
