Description: A Zitan brush-rest was beautifully carved as a trove of Linzhi plant. Rested on a fitted boxwood stand from which the patina was in warm old condition and was preserved with the dirt residue due to age, this piece was in perfect condition. A very rare and unusual root brush pot that is highly prized by the Qing Scholars. This is a very special type of root know in Chinese as "JinJinan" The pot has all the natural openings from the root. Age: Qing, early 18 century. Size: H. 29.3 cm. Diameter at the base. 19cm. Condition: No repairs to the root. An old repair on one leg of the base. One leg has been replaced. See photos.

A Yuan dynasty longquan celadon large dish, rounded side with raised rim and glazed base, dish decorated with carved large flower motif at interior and vertical ribbing suggesting flower petal motif at inner wall, dish covered with green glaze.
Size: 35.5 cm diameter.

This diamond cluster original period stick pin with a full pearl in the center is circa 1910’s. The 11 old-mine diamonds weigh approximately 0.55Ct. Some of the stones have sight nicks, but the over all condition of the piece is excellent. The high luster pearl in the center that measures 4.75 millimeters is POSSIBLY an oriental pearl but it was not X-rayed so it being considered and sold as a cultured pearl.

A very traditional pair of diamond and pearl earrings from the 1960’s is set in 14Kt yellow gold with a European leaver backs. These earrings can be worn dressy for occasions or sporty with jeans or basically all the time. The well matched high luster cultured pearls measure 6.8 millimeters and the approximate total weight of the two full cut diamonds is 0.10Ct.

 

Sourced from Rong Jiang area of China, the silver sectioned container was made and used by the Miao ethnic minority as a smoking accessory. A nicely carved jade pig done in the Han style. Pigs represent prosperity and jade pigs were were placed in the hands of the deceased. Many jade pigs were used for this purpose in later times and are sometimes mistaken for Han pieces. Size: L.10cm. H. 2.8cm. W. 2.3cm. Condition: No chips. Some calcification.

A black-glazed Jizhou bowl was preserved in a fine condition.
By a beautiful grayish image of freely painted plum branch in the cavetto against the black ground, the tea bowl was mold in a typical Wan shape when standing by a flat foot ring which was a strong characteristic for a Jizhou bowl.
The buff-tinted soft-feel paste revealed at the bottom was another obvious characteristic for this dated ware.

Nonya ware or straits saucer decorated with phoenix and floral. Daoguang Six Character,overglaze iron red seal mark. Daoguang Period (1820-1850). D=10.5 cm. Condition, a tiny frit on the rim, no chips, cracks, hairline or restorations.

A fine 18th century Chinese celadon-glazed porcelain dish, finely decorated with incised floral decoration. DATE : Qianlong (1736 - 1795). SIZE : D = 34 cm CONDITION : excellent condition, no chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs except firing flaw on the back near footrim (look at the picture).

A very unusual round Ming huanghuali box with a lid. The lid's center has a burl wood center of huanghuali. It is very rare to see burl wood huanghuali in huanghuali pieces. This is the only one I have ever seen. Size: Diameter: 15.5cm. H: 9 cm. Condition: One old small repair (see photo), a natural age crack on one side (see photo) and a small chip at the bottom rim.

Pair of rare sterling silver handmade ash or pin trays centered with a raised mythical pre-Columbian Quetzalcotal head designed and signed (c.1930's) by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-1967). Each measures 2 5/8" across. Contructed of heavy gauge silver. Weighs 19 grams. Beautiful vintage conditon with no dents or dings. Shipping and insurance included. Spratling was a contemporary of Hector Aguilar, Antonio Pineda, and Los Castillo.

Large vintage sterling silver handmade repousse pin designed and signed (c.1940) by Los Castillo. Measures 4 inches X 1 1/4 inch. A similar pin is pictured on page 171 of SILVER MASTERS by Penny Morrill. Signed LOS CASTILLO, TAXCO, STERLING, MADE IN MEXICO. It's known that Antonio Castillo's early designs were often influenced by his wife Margot De Taxco. Los Castillo was a contemporary of William Spratling and Antonio Pineda. A nice famille jaune bat motive tea cup. It has a Tonzhi seal mark both on the cover and the base of the cup and is of the period.

A minor manufacturing flaw on the cover (photo 2)and five hair lines as shown in the photos 4 and 5. two with stain and the other can be seen at certain angle only. Other than that, it is in fine condition, no chip or repair.

A New England Queen Anne highboy, circa 1750, in cherry, being a marriage of a period base with a period top. The proportions and color of the two components mesh very nicely, though the secondary woods differ, white pine versus chestnut. Found in a New Hampshire home. Refinished and with replaced brasses, otherwise in fine condition, without further restoration. Dimensions: 77 3/8" height x 38 1/2" width x 19 1/4" depth.
