The clasp is marked 'silver' and by the art deco design of it we date the piece to the 1920 - 1930's. The necklace measures 24" and consists of three strands. This is a nice weighty but very comfortable necklace, highly stylish and elegant, a real crowd pleaser.

Living in the mountainous regions of central Afghanistan, the women make these embroideries throughout the cold and harsh winters. This textile measures 25 x 27 cm and is in excellent condition.
