Pompoms adorn the edges of this densely embroidered textile made by the Kakarh tribe of Afghanistan. Metallic couching combined with Holbein, herringone and satin stitching characterize this piece. The reverse side is lined in plainweave striped cotton. The Kakarh have descendants in western provinces of Pakistan but are mostly found in Afghanistan and eastern Iran. This textile is in perfect condition and measures 20 x 31 1/2 inches (50.8 x 80 cm). Estimated age: mid 20th century.

This is a beautiful moulded polychrome porcelain bat or wufu and peach brush washer. The bat or wufu is glazed in a iron brown colour with gold dotting and lining. The pair of wings is shown clinching onto the peach and presumably, the bat eating is eating the peach. The peach colour is in the shed from green to dark pink at the tip, with dark green leave and brownish tree trunk. The inside of the brush washer is glazed in turquoise colour...

Measuring 29 x 37 cm this child's waistcoat is from Indus Kohistan. Condition is excellent, and it dates to the mid 20th century. The embroidery technique is straight stitch in silk thread on a black cotton background, embellished with white glass beads and buttons. Chinese Porcelain Sang de boeuf, Iron Red puppy dog with Celadon glaze, Ca. 1930's, 3 1/4" high, 4" wide x 1 3/4" deep, with curled tail and bell in front of the neck. Underglaze Ox blood and celadon glaze and bottom is unglazed. The condition is good, no damages.

Incense box of irregular circular shape. Over a light gray clay thickly applied opaque, lightly crackled glaze with feldspar that leaves bare a few small areas uncovered, which colored orange red during firing. On the cover a few circular black-brown underglaze "brush strokes".
Although bottom and cover clearly match, they do not make an airtight close line, but leave a couple of gaps. Few very short firing cracks.

This hand made, gold plated over silver, lapis lazuli bracelet is 7 inches long and 3 quarters of an inch wide. There are seven lapis lazuli pieces surrounded by a wired floral design. The workmanship is wonderful and it is in great shape. It is a 1930~1945 product and came from the jewelry collection of a retired Hong Kong jeweler. The back has a woven pattern.
