Fulvio Bianconi designed the fasce verticale series for Venini. This pair is in good condition. The metal parts show the patina of age. An interesting detail regarding this pair is the rod that runs up the center of the lamp, concealing the wire, is covered with a ribbed clear glass tube which adds an attractive element of finish to the lamps. The lamps are 23" to top of glass.

Large sterling silver berry spoon in Kirk's wonderful "Repousse" pattern. Certainly the most famous of all silver patterns to emerge from Baltimore, "Repousse" is filled with flowers such as roses, daisies and forget-me-nots. The bowl of the spoon is decorated with mixed fruit including strawberries, apples, grapes and raspberries. The back is marked "S. Kirk & Son Sterling", the mark used between 1927 and 1961.

Pair of 24'' tall brass church candle holders with exceptional detailing featuring a cross on the base. This is an older pair, no later than first half of 20th century and quite heavy. They fit a 3" diameter column candle...

Juban (under kimono) made of hand-spun cotton with shibori design, dyed with vegetable indigo. The shibori technique of the top part is Te-Kumo Shibori (Hand-bound Spiderweb) and the lower part is Kanoko shibori (Bound Dots) and Boshi shibori (Capped Motifs) with mum design, which is dyed in Akita prefecture. Cotton cloth inside is also hand-spun and vegetable indigo dye. In good condition except for mending in the back (the last image). The first half of the 20th century. 121cm x 130cm

This difficult to find tool-of-the trade pharmacy “IDEAL CAPSULE FILLER” was used by early 20th century druggists to enhance their capsule production. The patent date is stamped Oct. 31, 1905, and research indicates that it was produced by the "Baltimore Capsule Co."

These eight wayang kulit shadow puppets, called in Bali "ringgits", were bought from a dalang (shadow artist) in Bali around 1960 and had then already a certain age. In a wayang kulit performance, the puppet figures are mostly rear-projected on a linen screen. These puppets are made from rather thick pergament (cowhide) and painted in natural colors, many of them are inscribed with their name on the wooden sticks...

Embroidered in vivid turquoise silk floss with a top stitch of golden silk floss, this woman's shawl ("phulkari") from Swat Valley measures 97 cm x 198 cm and is in excellent condition. The designs are stylized rosettes with densely embroidered borders and a medallion motif in the center. Black is the dominant color for the background of Swati embroideries, which share many motifs in common with the embroidery from Hazara district...

This is a wonderfully hand-carved netsuke depicting Bakemono "Unreal Thing or Goblin" with a Rokuro-Kubi (whirling Neck), in other words a Goblin creature with an expanding neck like the spring of 'Jack-in-the-box", that, according to legend, twists its head around and leers in the faces of sleepers. The creature is standing on one foot and appears to be praying...

Offered is a wonderful, circa 1920's, John Wyeth apothecary bottle sporting a fancy, shield-shaped, foil label, Elixir Phenobarbitol.

This obi was made from a full obi roll without being cut; the front fabric was turned into the back and the sides of obi were simply sewn together without padding inside. This is real bone carving panel/painting depicting dragons playing with fire ball. At the back of it is the chinese character of Fok and 5 bats surrounding it.
