A pearlware child’s mug with the stencil inscription in blue on the front, “A Gift from the Pottery,” in a cut corner rectangle with a seaweed surround. The top and bottom of the mug with a single blue band. The ends of the oval handle spread like a leaf. 2 1/8 inches (5.4 cm) tall, 3 ¼ inches (8.3 cm) across the handle.

A pair of elaborate porcelain vases with large leaves in turquoise and gilt opening from a narrow base which rests on four wide feet. The base and feet encrusted with vegetation and occasional flowers which also support a large rising stem on either side with roses on one side and blue, orange garden flowers and possibly small lilies on the other side. Hard to imagine putting flowers that wouldn’t clash into these vases. Height 7 3/8 inches (19 cm), width 6 ¼ inches (16 cm) and depth 5 inches...

A Dutch delft blue and white tile painted on the diagonal showing a tulip in the center with parts of fruits around it as it grows out of ground that would form a star with three other tiles of the same pattern. 5 1/8 inches (13 cm) square. A little less than ½ inch (1 cm) wide. Tapered sides. Wire hanger attached.

Condition: damaged along the upper left edge, part of an old repair and part not repaired. Firing flaw on the right. Small losses on other edges.

A Dutch delft polychrome tile, from 1620 to 1650, with a bee resting on the petals of one flower (probably a snake’s head fritillary) with a second blossom on the same plant below it. A Dutch delft polychrome hand decorated tile made between 1620 and 1650 depicting a double handled vase containing three orange flowers that fit into the space on the tile between the large painted corners. The colors are blue, orange and green. 4 ½ inches (11.5 cm) square. ½ inch (1.5 cm) wide. Tapered sides. Glued on hanger a late addition.

A molded porcelain figure of a man in 18th century dress turned slightly to his right to warm his hands over a flaming brazier, emblematic of winter. The figure is marked on the base with the underglaze blue “F.” for Furstenberg. It also has the impressed marks A.a.M for a later production of the model which has the impressed number 85. 7 3/8 inches (19 cm) tall.

Condition: excellent except for the amputation of the fingertips of the right hand.

A watercolor with pencil and pen and ink showing the Arch of Janus in the foreground on the right with the tower and a porch of the Church of Saint George’s in Velabro Rome a little further back on the left. Written on the old backboard “S. Giorgio – Roma/ Augustus Hare” and a card on added to it fairly recently, probably when it was reframed, “S. With the purchase of the lease on the Nymphenburg factory by Albert Baumi in 1887 the factory started to re-produce figures that had been originally made in the 18th century. This figure of a Turk, originally modeled by Bustelli, is one of those. Like many of the 18th century figures this one is not decorated with colors. 4 ¾ inches (12 cm) tall and 5 ¼ inches (13.5 cm) across the base. Shield mark and the numbers 192 and 0 impressed on the underside.

Porcelain hand painted figure of a musician playing a lute(?). The original by Bustelli was modeled in the mid-18th century. This is a later copy, after 1887 when the factory was taken over by Albert Baumi and the old models revived. Nymphenburg shield and the numbers 59 and 0 impressed on the underside. 4 5/8 inches (11.7 cm) tall and 5 3/8 inches (13.5 cm) across the base.

Condition: undamaged except for three of the four tuning pegs and part of the red bow on his left shoe missing.

A silver form porcelain teapot with the vented knop on the lid and the pattern number, “N 195” in red enamel on the base. This pattern is known as the “knitting wool” pattern. 5 ¾ (14.6 cm) inches tall, 9 3/8 inches (23.8 cm) across the handle and spout.

Condition: excellent. A tiny rough spot on the lip of the spout might be a tiny glaze chip or it could be a very small firing loss.

I think this form is one of the most pleasing for late 18th century teapots.

A porcelain (hard paste) baluster form coffee pot decorated with a small bouquet of flowers and a few sprigs on one side and a few sprigs on the other with reddish purple ribbon with flowers around the top of the pot and the outside of the lid. Also on the pot a double band with entwined roses. The lid with a vented knop, which is a feature of silver form New Hall teapots. A porcelain two handled small tureen with cover and stand (this could possibly be a very large ecuelle) in a classical urn form with the handles having hooded classical female faces. The form is similar to one sold as Nove at Sotheby’s Zurich November 25, 1992 lot 126, illustrated. A porcelain two handled bowl with applied porcelain flowers and a fruit finial with bold floral decoration combined with gilding. Though the form is likely to be derived from early Meissen, the decoration is much later in tone. Unmarked though there are indications that there may have been a mark on the bottom at one time. 4 ¼ inches (11 cm) tall, 6 ½ inches (16.5 cm) across the handles.

A 12 ¼ inch (31 cm) diameter blue and white delft charger made at Lambeth, London toward the end of the 18th century. The “Chinese garden” is well executed as is the border on the lip. A plate with the same decoration is at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Condition: chips around the edge and a few places on the lip where the glaze has flaked off.

A 13 5/8 inch (34.5 cm) diameter blue and white delft charger with Chinese style decoration in the center depicting a rock with flowers on a ground with other plants. Crossing lines with dots between, surround the well and also on the outer edge of the lip. Dutch 18th century.

Condition: a fair bit of wear to the glaze, a chip on the rim with glaze losses and other smaller losses around the rim.
