Imperial folio lithograph with hand coloring after John W. Audubon of a pair of Little Nimble Weasels in winter coats printed by J.T. Bowen 1848. This print was part of the three volume folio printed between 1845 and 1848 of the Viviparous Quadruped of North America. The sheet is approximately 22 x 28 inches (56 x 71 cm), the mat opening 18 ½ x 24 ½ inches (47 x 62 cm) and the oak frame 24 ¾ x 31 ½ inches (61 x 80 cm).

A large gold lustre and blue on a cream ground Spanish first half of the 16th century charger, probably Valencia, Manises. Molded with a dome in the center and leaves around the rim with a hole for hanging pierced in the rim before firing. 16 ¾ inches (42.5 cm) diameter.

Condition: Broken and restuck with some fairly crude filling of a couple of lost bits. One serious rim chip and numerous glaze and minor chips on the edge. Some wear to the gold lustre.

A large (15 5/8 inch diameter) tile of birds and flowers enclosed within a blue border inside black lines. The tile has the usual thick transparent crackled glaze, muted colors and off-white tone. 15 5/8 inches (38 cm) diameter.

Condition: no cracks, hairlines or repairs. Some very small chips on the edge, the biggest is under the glaze so it must have happened before firing. Strong supports for hanging on a wall.

A pair of large Chinese made and decorated porcelain serving plates for the Western market circa 1790. Good flowers painted in a complex design covering most of the surface. The square edge appears to be gilded with something more like bronzing powder than fire gilding. 11 1/8 inches (28.5 cm) diameter.

Hand painted with extensive flowers a pair of porcelain soup plates made in China and decorated for the Western market about 1790. The flowers are carmine with touches of blue and yellow and different shades of green for the leaves. The edges of the plates are glazed brown. Diameter 8 7/8 inches (22. 5 cm) and 1 3/8 inches (3 cm) tall.

A very tall late nineteenth century bronze lamp base in a mixture of classical styles. It was cast in sections then joined with a steel rod running up through the hollow pieces. The flowers on the flying saucer in the middle are attached. Though it could have been made anywhere I suspect that it may have been made in France. 19 inches (48.3 cm) tall.

Condition: All there and traces of gilding. Some corrosion toward the base which wipes off with vigorous work.

A pair of patinated and gilt bronze four light candelabra in the early 19th century style and probably of the period. Most of the later 19th century bases are attached with screws directly to the underside of the feet. These are attached through a piece of wood and bolts are held in place with hand cut square nuts. An earthenware transfer printed in colors plate with a floral border and the scene of a young woman riding a donkey sidesaddle while another well dressed woman stands by. The number “8” appears in a small cartouche above the scene and the title, “Promeade á âne.” The mark on the back seems unreadable, but looks just like an impressed mark for the French manufacturer Montereau and the date of around 1850 is maybe a little late but about right. 8 inches (20.3 cm) diameter.
