There is a design in the lip of the creamer as well as outside the creamer. Ornate sterling silver meat serving fork, the handle decorated with shells, scrolls, roses and beads, and the matte-gilded tines decorated with bright cut engraving. The reverse is marked "925Sterlin1000", a marking frequently seen on American sterling silver before silversmith's were required to identify their work.

A well decorated, monogrammed and marked hard paste porcelain plate. The outside border is decorated with a narrow peach ground and elaborate gilding with green dots and red lines. It includes a monogram dominated by the letter "R." The center of the plate is decorated with a hand painted white morning glory.

The maroon printed mark, "Ch.PILLIVUYT &Cie/PARIS/EXP 1867/MEDAILLE D'OR" is printed inside a dotted oval under the base. Charles Pillivuyt was a well-established porcelain manufacturer...

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Doulton Burslem in the 1890s. It is made of bone china and has molded decorations and an ornate handle. The decoration is known as “Spanish Lace”. Fine gilding is accented with raised enamel beading and hand painted flowers. The pattern covers the entire surface of both pieces. An outstanding Restoration period French silver wine taster in the 18th century style typical of Lyon. Great pair of cast iron owl andirons with glass eyes that light up from the flames of the fire. They measure 15" tall X 9 1/2" wide x 16" deep, are attributed to Howes Foundry of Boston, Mass., and are from the 1880s. They are marked on the side of the rail #918-1 and Made in USA, and on the back of the owl 3000 and the number 2. They are in excellent original condition with no damage, including the glass eyes.

A pretty Victorian sterling silver berry or preserves spoon in Towle’s 1887 “Clover” pattern. Both the handle and bowl are decorated with bright-cut engraving of clover flowers and foliage. The bowl has a scalloped upper border, repoussed lobes, and matte gilding. The back is marked with Towle’s hallmark and the patent date.

So Special! Large and old double-sided blacksmithing trade sign.

Fabulous and extremely rare hand-forged iron trade sign in the form of a pretzel. The sign retains an old gilt surface. There is a strong trace of red, yellow and blue paint on the back side and edges of the pretzel, no doubt the colors that were used on the wall or backboard to which the sign was attached through the 13 mounting holes. There also appears to be a red layer underneath the gold. This layer was probably intended to be an undercoating to give the gilding more depth...

Extremely rare pair of Victorian cast iron flamingo garden ornaments. Dating from the late 19th century, these flamingos are exceptional. I've seen many later versions in concrete or plastic, but never another pair this old or made of cast iron. These birds appear to be enjoying their third or fourth layer of paint, but the newest layer appears to be a good 50 years old. Extremely elegant Louis XV-style French silver master salt dip with cobalt glass liners. The shapes of the containers remind me of Louis XV bombe commodes. The repousse design is very architectural in nature, and makes use of numerous decorative elements such as fluted columns, ribbons, cartouches, and pendant bellflowers.
