Pair of pretty Austrian Biedermeier Classical silver candlesticks, 1863. Each: Tapering socket with turned-down rim and overhanging base mounted to knopped baluster shaft on domed and curvilinear foot with stippled flowers at corners. Fluting and lobing. Perfect for reading Goethe by candlelight. Marks include dated Viennese assay stamp indicating 13 loths (that is 812.5 silver) and maker’s initials IC. Very good condition.

An earthenware transfer printed in colors plate with a floral border and the scene of a young woman riding a donkey sidesaddle while another well dressed woman stands by. The number “8” appears in a small cartouche above the scene and the title, “Promeade á âne.” The mark on the back seems unreadable, but looks just like an impressed mark for the French manufacturer Montereau and the date of around 1850 is maybe a little late but about right...

A pair of octagonal dessert plates by Copeland, the edges dented and gilt. Japanised, “Aesthetic” decoration of brambles or blackberries, transfer printed and hand painted with some gilt over part of the withered leaves and berries. Diameter "9/ 22.8 cm. The back with the impressed curved mark used by Copeland from 1860 to 1880, and N80, probably for November 1880. Condition: fine.

A vintage Victorian period porcelain pink lustre 5 piece condiment or cruet set depicting a playing pair of cherubs or children with the legend "A present from Rathdowney" (a town located in County Laois, Ireland). This 5-3/8" across set is 5-1/4" deep and stands 4-1/2" high with the lids and shaker insert. Pretty French faience plate exuberantly decorated with vases of carnations, sprays of bluebells and colorful insects. The plate has a deep rim and the edges are finished in a nice curved pattern. The back of the plate is marked "Jardin" in underglaze blue.

Origin: France, early 19th century. Condition: no body cracks or chips; glaze wear along rim; normal glaze crackling. Size: 10-1/4" diameter.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Germany by Wehsener Dresden in the late 19th century. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 1/8 inches high. The porcelain has an egg shell, translucent quality. The set is hand decorated with large sprays of colorful flowers. Little sprigs of flowers dot the surface of the porcelain. This pair of porcelain goblets was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg between 1850 and 1862. They measure 6 7/8 inches high and have a diameter of 2.75 inches. They are decorated with portraits of persons of royalty to commemorate their engagement or marriage. The portraits are executed with photographic detail. Gorgeous French Belle Epoque Rococo 950 silver and crystal decanter, ca 1890. Crystal baluster bowl with acid-etched leafing and flowering branches and wavy bands. Silver mounts with dynamic wave and scrollwork, shells, and leaves. Cover hinged with fish-mouth spout and scallop shell thumb rest. High-looping leaf-capped handle. Four scroll supports. Minerva head mark. Very good condition with deep patina.

This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in Vienna, Austria in 1804. Impressed numbers on the bottom of the saucer indicate this year. It has an underglaze cobalt blue bee hive marking on both pieces. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/2 inches and is 1 3/4 inches high. The cup is 4 1/4 inches high, including the lid. A French carving set; knife and fork with silver handles, beautifully engraved and crafted. Made in Paris in the 1880’s, in the classicist Louis XVI style so much “en vogue” at the time. The fork made of ivory or bone, the sharp steel blade of the knife marked Paris. Minerva head hall mark and maker’s mark of a bird, possibly, and E. Length of knife "13¼/ 33,5 cm. Condition: the little knob of the fork seems to be replaced, otherwise fine.
