This is an authentic example from the Qijia culture, dating to 2100-1600 BCE, of a well-known type of ritual axe, known as a "Yue." It measures 4" in length and 3-3/8" at its widest point (10cm X 8.5cm). The surface has a beautiful, smooth polish; the "blade" has a beveled edge and has been sharpened, although it shows no signs of actual use. The large hole has been conically drilled. This is a pale celadon and russet jade plaque, dating to the Qing dynasty. The piece is entirely worked by hand, with no indication of modern/machine carving (or re-carving). It measures 2-1/2 inches in length and has been perforated lengthwise to permit it to be strung with a cord and worn. The reverse side has been carved with a series of symbols. A very finely carved oval-shaped white jade falconer's plaque depicting a five-clawed dragon amongst scrolling foliage. This item was probably made in China in the 18th Century during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor (1736-1795). This semi-translucent stone is carved in high relief on the bottom in the form of a lotus leaf with pods and buds and stems. It is jade-green in areas and almost clear in others and it shows the numerous flaws running through the stone typical of so-called green quartz (actually fluorite). There are numerous chips and losses around the rim edges. It is accompanied by a fitted carved hardwood stand that has losses to two of its feet.

A Chinese silver gilt box set with two fine jade rings and decorated with semi precious stones and enamel details. The jades are of very pale hue and translucent whilst the gilt is in very good condition. Stamped " silver" to the base. Age: late Qing to early Republican period. Size: ten cm. high X 8 cm diameter. condition: very good, no restoration, no breaks.

A pale celadon nephrite "heart shaped" jade carving, done entirely by hand. The piece measures 4-1/2" in length and 2-3/4" at its widest point. The raised carving is approximately 3/4" in height. The design is of a coiled dragon, as shown in the photos. Evident signs of alteration/calcification in the stone. This is not a modern piece and is guaranteed to be no later than the 19th century and possibly earlier. A genuine and substantial carving, beautifully done.

Description:

A Houtien jade pendent was in flat cicada shape.
With original drilling holes at the tip for hanging, the jade piece was covered with unique black stone crust comparing to milky white tint of the pebble.
It was preserved in very good condition with one minute restoration to the lower right rim and some frets in a limited way.

Covered vase in nuanced ocher jade, decorated in relief with a grinding wheel with Taotie masks. Very good quality of sculpture. The stone is probably fire-patinated to imitate the color of archaic jade as was usually the case in the Ming Dynasty. It is impossible for me to date such an object. It is old, probably from the 18th century but could be earlier. Good condition, except for a few dents on the lid that can be seen on an enlarged photo. Height: 12cm.
