The three legs are the form of Chinese mystical beast’s 饕餮 (Tao Tie) face and claws. The two handles are the image of Pi Xiu 貔貅 and the top is a form of Foo Lion. This nicely executed silver alloy tea pot is a late-19th century product. It is 8” high (9 ½” high with handle extended) and 9” wide at the spout. The body is 6 ¼” wide. The famous 8 immortals and their symbols appear over the entire hexagonal body and cover. The spout is the shape of a mythical animal, PiXie. The knob on the cover of the teapot is a seated PiXie. There is an honorable mark “Great Qing Qian Long” stamped on the bottom. It is in great condition.
