Covered all over the surface with adhering earth coatings, the images of recumbent tigers were still revealed by the silhouettes.
Han-Bar-Dao, a typical carving skill of Han Dynasty was used on two of the pieces.
In simple and clear carving skill, the images of two tigers were vaguely and subtly rendered...
Description: A lovely dog was carved vividly in a crouching way. Lying as is in sleeping, the dog's ribs were obvious by the carver's observation.The sandstone's quality was strong and the color was in grayish white and amid with black dots. Date was judged by the overall erosions and the characteristic style of the subject. Date: Song period(12th century), Width: 12cm , Height: 9.5cm.

This is a 17th century, coloured stone Buddha statue. It is curved out of a single piece of solid rock. The clothing on the body is maroon in colour and the boarder around the sleeve and neck is in black colour. The Buddha face, hand and feet are covered with traces of gold leaf gilding. The head is originally painted in blue colour but later painted with black paint. The head also has circle design on it all around...

An excarvated head carved in very hard and dense black stone, in the round with oversized ears and pronounced arched eyebrows and downcast eyes.
The head superbly polished, still with traces of the ancient carving methods and a deeply encrusted or embedded earthern patina.
The head is mounted on a modern and very attractive black marple base.

A very elaborate and finely gilt large figure of mahasthamaprapta bodhisattva, Chinese, later Qing Dynasty, 1644-1912, this figure probably from the late 19th. cent.
Size: 34,5 cm. tall, incl. the flat mounted base.
Condition: Extremely fine for type and age. Finely patinated in a redish gold colour with some light wear but othervise completely intact, the blue pigment still present as well. Closed lid in the back...
A lovely preserved early wooden Buddha, China, dating to the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD), probably 16th. century.
Seated in dhyanasana, the arms lowered in dhyanamudra, holding an alms bowl, wearing long robes falling into voluminous folds and opening at the chest, the face with a benevolent expression with downcast eyes and a gentle smile flanked by long ears, the tightly coiled hair surmounted by an ushnisha. Comes with seperately made double lotus throne.

A spending antique Chinese Kwan Yin sculpture made in the late Ming Dynasty. Kwan Yin or Guanyin and Avalokiteshvara is the Bodhisattva of compassion. Here she stands samabhanga on a simple base with robes flowing and clinging naturally over and to her long, slender body. Her feet peek from beneath her robes.
Her hands are held with her thumb and middle finger touching in the vitarka mudra of teaching. Her hair is piled high on her head. Her gaze serene and slightly downcast...
Statue of Guanyu, the general of Liu Bei, which was transformed into the famous Guangong, the Taoist God of War. Guanyu is shown here in full military garb, with helmet and armor, sitting on an elevated throne. Votive box at the back, still closed. Wood, with remnants of superimposed painting, lacquering and gilding. China, 19th century. Height: 24.7 cm. Painting and lacquering partly flaked, otherwise very good condition.
An authentic marble stele fragment depicting an Apsara, measuring 4-3/4" in height by 3-1/2" in width. The carving is very well done and the details are crisp. The surface retains its original patina. A very fine example, mounted on a custom stand (the base of the sculpture has been drilled with a hole to accommodate the shaft). This is a diminutive portrayal of a crowned Buddhist figure, most likely a Bodhisattva, dating to circa the 6th century AD, Northern Qi dynasty. Note that the nose and areas of the forehead are darker than the rest of the stone, indicating that they have been rubbed by the hands of worshippers over the centuries, creating a "sweat stain" darkening of the stone...
An antique 18th century Chinese Bronze Buddha seated in the varda or granting of Boons mudra.
This lovely Buddha is seated in the lotus or Padmasana position, with each foot placed on the opposite thigh. His robes cascade fluidly from his left shoulder. His robe is draped to leave the right shoulder bare, and a portion of the garment that covers the left wrist falls behind the figure...
Fragment of a relief carved in marble to represent a flying "apsara". China, Tang dynasty, 10th century. Height: 12.5 cm. The piece is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Good condition. Provenance: French auction sale 1992.
This handle is in cast bronze with 2 welded sides and gilded. The carving is of the best quality and the sculptur is powerful, announcing an excellent artist. It must have been part of a very large censer or vase in certainly imperial cloisonné enamel that is somewhere.Certainly Kienlong period or earlier.
