A very small Song Junyao bowl with slightly rounded sides and incurved rim covered with a grayish-blue glaze with an very nice splash of purplish-red to the interior of the bowl. The glaze thinning at the rim to a buff tone. The base is unglazed and is burnt reddish in the firing.

It is beautifully potted in an ovid melon form with in a transparent icy green glaze, with the rounded side tapering to a short foot. The qingpai glazing which is uneven, fall short of the short foot-rim with a recessed base.
There are no repairs or restorations. There is some minor firing fault, degradation, glaze crazing and minor losses as shown in all the photograps. Minor scattered oxidise spot as shown in all the photographs...

A green glazed "celadon" stoneware vase with flattened pear-shaped body,ring handles and moulded decoration made in the Longquan kilns, Zhejiang province in the 14th Century, during the Yuan dynasty (1279-1368). On each side of the vase are six-lobed cartouches containing the Chinese characters "shou" (longevity) and "fu" (prosperity). This old Chinese stoneware ceramic pipe bowl (smoke chamber) would have been placed onto the smoking pipe to allow for a small piece of opium to be smoked. The tiny opening at the top would allow the smoke to be drawn into the stoneware chamber and cooled before being inhaled by the smoker.
The piece has 2 different makers marks which are clearly stamped into each side of the clay underside of bottom hole.
Superb potted by Yixing artist Jiang Qinfen and signed 3 times ( 2 x to the inside of the lid and 1 x to the underside of the handle ) all the marks are visible on the enlargements.

Like all our pieces also this piece is genuine, the body of the piece is in a perfect condition with no chips or cracks. The only problem of this extremely rare excavated piece is that to the outside the surface of the glaze during hundreds of years was heavily attacked by aggressive soil. To the inside of the piece there still are remainders of the former very attractive oilspot decoration.

An Yixing stoneware teapot bearing a rare seal "Li Bang Shui Ji" - which might be a retailers mark. There is a single hole inside the spout. A nice potted Song Dynasty Henan ware pot and a definitely wonderful glaze.
This very decorative piece comes from resp. was in use in an old temple in Klungkung, east Bali. The inscription to the unglazed base of the piece could be associated with this provenance.

This Ge glazed dish is at least from the early Qing Dynasty but most probably the piece is older. Please compare the shape and the unglazed base of the piece with similar Ge glazed pieces from the early Ming and the Yuan Dynasty. There was an interesting discussion concerning this topic last year at Gotheborg forum.

A extremely rare Southern Song ( 1127 – 1279 ) Guan ware, Guanyao washer. The well potted body in a very nice shape covered with a grayish-sea-green glaze with a highly attractive crackle. The light grey ware burnt brown in the firing. Guan´, the official ware of the southern Song court, is perhaps the most admired and desirable of all Chinese ceramics.
This rare washer is probably an excavated piece.

Description: This is a vey finely potted yingqing or qingbai meiping from the Song dynasty. The body is incised with a beautifully free hand drawing of lotus flower with scrolling foliages.
Dimension: The height is 17cm and the dimeter at the widest part of the body is 11cm.
Condition: In good condition with no repair, restoration, chip or crack. Minor abrasion, especially at the mouth (picture 5)and very minor abrasion on the body.

Decorated with a dragon hunting the flaming pearl. Made in two segments with a horizontal seam. Excellent condition with slight age wear and scratches to the glaze. H. 7 cm , diameter 8 cm.
There are traces of an very attractive formerly gilt decoration and connoisseurs will agree that exactly this is it which makes this bowl ( Temmoku ) to an great rarity. Even in Museum collections there are almost no references for such pieces.

The body of the bowl is covered with a thick greenish-creamy-grey glaze whose surface appears like old polished marble. The crackles in the glaze are very attractive. Most probably Ming Dynasty, sixteenth century or earlier.

This is another antique wine bottle of the Song Dynasty from our collection.
This large wine bottle is about 1000 years old and has been made in the Ji Kiln. It has a dark glazed body with an some unglazed dragon / phoenix decoration.
It is in good condition. There are only some little spoils of time and a little scratch ( please watch photos )...

A Ming dynasty 17th century Chinese bronze censer with elephant head motif, base with six character xuande mark, censer is in good condition with small dent near the footring, no damage no restoration, size: 11.5 cm mouth diameter, 15 cm wide with handle, height 9.5 cm, weight is about 850 gram.

This stoneware dish is shaped in the form of an oval tray with straight walls, raised on four molded feet. It is glazed overall with a semi-transparent brownish-amber glaze with areas of faint purples and reds. An unglazed area in the center of the base is brush painted with six Chinese characters in iron slip glaze. Some kiln cracking is present on one end and the typical wear for an item of this age and use is evident on the feet and areas of the glaze. There are no restoration...
