Vietnamese 15th Century Blue & White Porcelain Dish - Hoi An Hoard (with book)

This attractive and sizeable dish was made during the mid 15th century, probably around the 1430's - 1440's. It is quite "heavily-potted" and has been decorated in underglaze blue in a variety of floral and lotus leaf patterns with a crackled glaze...

Rare cream colored glazed Myanmar bowl with incised lotus and flared rim design circa 13th/14th CE, found at the Tak Hilltop Burial Site along the border of Burma and Thailand. I bought this about 20 years ago, now you cannot find these anymore. There are 3 repairs on the rim. Of these white wares from Burma, I have only seen one unrestored piece. D: 17.7cm/7in and H: 7.5cm/2.9in.

This covered box of a Sawankhalok underglazed black stoneware has an unusual design including six raised bands dividing petal-shaped segments. This type of Sawankhalok ware was produced in Sisatchanelai kilns, Thailand during the fourteenth to fiftheenth centuries. Height: 11 cm. Very good condition. Provenance: Acquired in Singapore in 1990 from MoonGate, owner Mr K. T. Goh, a famous local antique dealer.

Thai 14th-15th Century Sawankhalok, Ayutthaya period, glazed ovoid shaped bottle flanked by two small ring ear handles at shoulder, and glazed in olive green celadon tones with horizontal linear markings. Nice shiny gloss to glaze falls short of base. Note slight chipping of glaze on one side. Height is 5 inches.

Found in the Philippines. Two jarlets with vegetal decorations. Measurements: height 3.7"inches (right), 3.1"inches (left). Condition: both jars have a small chip on the glaze and some fritting around the mouth. Very good study pieces. Photos by: The Oriental Room®️

A genuine antique KHMER LIME POT, 12-14th Century, Iron-Brown with incised motifs and horizontal ringed ribbing towards the top/neck. Size: 5" diameter x 3" height (13 cm x 7.75 cm). Condition overall good, no cracks/hairlines nor leaking, but several body chips and on the neck/lip as shown in the photographs.

Mother nursing her child, probably from the Sawankhalok kilns. The body of the hand-modeled figure is rather hastily sculpted as is the doll-like child. This hastiness is typical of figures such as this one which were made in large numbers and distributed as fertility charms. This one, however, has more care taken in defining the facial features of the mother as well as her hairstyle...

A Genuine Antique 18/19th Century Famille Noire SINO-THAI BENCHARONG-BENJARONG BOWL depicting Thepanom and Kinaree Buddhist Deities. Made to order in China for the Thai Court and Nobility.The interior of the bowl is Emerald Green and has a Flower Medallion. Benjarong means 5 Colors. Size: 6" diameter x height 3". Condition good with two hardly noticeable short hairlines on top rim.

A rare SISATCHANALAI-Sukothai Ceramic Bowl, KALONG KILNS NORTHERN THAILAND, with iron decor. Base typically unglazed. 14-15th Century. Condition good with some wear considering age, one inconsequential chip on rim. Size: 15.5 cm. diameter x H. 7 cm.

A superb quality large celadon charger or dish with high relief decoration, mid 15th. century, Sawankhalok kilns Thailand for the Chinese market.

Provenance: This superb condition massive celadon charger / dish was recovered from the Royal Nanhai (AD. c.1460) shipwreck. The dating was based on carbon 14 analysis of the ships timber and by cross-referring the ceramic cargo to other datable shipwreck sites...

Jar of squat bulbous form. Buff stoneware body covered with a dark brown glaze . Sawankhalok ware. Thailand fifteenth to sixteenth centuries. D : 4,5 inc. Very good condition !

Earthenware offering plate depicting Buddha sitting in a niche, his hands in "bhumisparsa mudra". On his right is another Buddha also in a niche. Thailand, Khmer period known as Lopburi, 12-14th century. 84 mm high x 84 mm wide x 17 mm thick. The piece is nicely mounted on a custom stand. Abrasion due to age, otherwise good condition.

Found in the Philippines. Created for slaked lime, a component for the social practice of chewing “Betelnut”. Its globular form resembles an areca nut with a stylized overhead handle covered in a green and cream glaze. Its rounded body has a circular hole intended to extract lime, which will be then deposited on a betel leaf...
