A rare and small SONG DYNASTY, SAWANGKALOKE IRON BROWN GLAZED MINIATURE BOTTLE/VASE, 14-16th Century. It has 2 intact loops and exeptionally beautiful incised ringed ribbing. Very good condition. Size: height 7 cm.

Rare 4.9cm/1.9in Thai stoneware bowl from the Sankampaeng kiln circa 15th/16th CE with two fish in the center and scalloped cavetto, there is well done repaired chip on the inner rim noted last enlargement. This is a classic and definitive piece for the Sankampaeng kiln as the incised/impressed fish motif is only found on ceramics from this Thai kiln. There are some blue flambé highlights in the center, probably accidental but quite attractive. D: 21.5cm/8.2in and H: 5cm/2in.

The products of Sukhothai kiln had been exporting to neighboring countries, this piece was found in Philippines. It is covered with white slip and expressed fish by iron paint. The fish has a expression like human and humorous, so it has been popular in Japan, This piece was stored by famous Japanese collector with wooden box. Sawankhalok kiln was located in the middle Thailand in 14~15th century and famous for fine celadon works. This bowl is a large size piece with stem, carved flowers with beautiful green celadon glaze. In northern Vietnam the ceramic industry had been developing under Chinese influence and especially the art of blue & white glaze was excellent just comparable with YUAN DYNASTY pieces.They used the　cobalt glaze imported from Persian so coloring of blue is very beautiful. 「福」Chinese letter　means "happiness". Mother nursing her child, probably from the Sawankhalok kilns. The body of the hand-modeled figure is rather hastily sculpted as is the doll-like child. This hastiness is typical of figures such as this one which were made in large numbers and distributed as fertility charms. This one, however, has more care taken in defining the facial features of the mother as well as her hairstyle...

Diameter approximately 38 cm. There is a soft chip at the rim. In good condition.
