This antique Chinese necklace has an ornately detailed large Kylin as the central medallion. The medallion is 3.5 inches across and there are are five decorative chains hanging from it. A large and nice jun yao bowl of sky blue colour. It stands on a short recessed foot rin and then everted upwards towards a slightly straighten side and then towards the rim it folds slightly inwards. There is a slight colour variation between the actual bowl glaze and the photograph taken.

This old carpenter's detail handsaw was clearly home made by an experienced carpenter craftsman who took pride in his work. It is decorated with delicately carved swirls of clouds and has metal fittings for strength. It has the original blade which was sharpened to cut on both forward and back strokes and is still remarkably sharp. This saw was (according to my carpentry friend) was probably used for fine marquetry work. The saw measures 11" long. It is a rare find and a pleasure to own.

This is a small Tang dynasty (618-906 A.D) sancai water dropper in the shape of a mystical animal, possibly a foo lion, in a curling up sleeping position. The water hole is created on the back of the animal.

There is no repair or restoration. Minor abrasion, pin hole, bubble burst and degradation.

This Japanese Fireman Hanten is made of hand-loomed Sashiko weave cotton fabric. This was the fabric of choice for the firefighting jackets because they could and would be drenched with water to keep the fireman safe from the flames while fighting fires. From Yunnan Province, this minority hand woven open container has wonderful age and patina. The wife said it was used at family dinners for pouring wine, the husband said used for pouring tea. I just smiled and nodded in agreement. The piece was obviously woven tight enough to contain liquid. There is a small piece of bamboo inserted into the basket spout which aids in controlling the flow. Condition is very good and the piece measures 8" x 5" high.
