A rising star in the pottery world, Yamaguchi Makoto was born in Seto, Aichi prefecture in 1978. In 2000 he was apprenticed to Hiroshige Kato (Kasen Toen). In 2004 began exhibiting his wares and has held many solo exhibitions at Department Stores and top galleries throughout Japan.
If a chawan can be at the right place at the right time, than this is the one. This medieval style chawan has a rich, fluid coating of glassy ash covering the entire face and most of the interior of the bowl with a vivid, green pool of ash as a centerpiece for the viewer/user.
