A thick glazed tokkuri and chokko cup by Koyama Kiyoko enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The Tokkuri has a playful stance, slightly cocky and leaning, as if it wants to pour. Both are covered in thick, dripping ash glaze, a product of her legendary long firings, sometimes lasting ten days. It is 5 inches (13 cm) tall and in fine condition.

This rich and substantial pot is by Mashiko potter Hyuga Munetoshi, a one time student of the Hamada kiln (?). Glazed in an exceedingly rich tessha/kaki iron glaze the pot has wax resisted decoration of flowers on either side of the pot. Intended for use as both a tsubo and mizusashi, this pot is a great example of modern Mingei influenced Mashiko pottery. This beautiful oil on canvas by Don Doxie is titled "Bible, Boot and Bowler," and was painted in 1971. Doxie's still life paintings are so realistic that its incredible. You can see the wrinkled leather in the boot and the damage to the spine on the bible and its just like a photograph. This one measures 12" x 16".

Born in 1928, Don Doxey is well known for his photo-real western still life objects. This wonderful painting, titled "Song of the Calvary" is so realistic that it looks three dimentional. It measures 30" x 28" unframed, and 35" x 33" framed. Photographs do not do this painting justice - its so real that its amazing.

Fine Bizen sake set by Prefectural Intangible Cultural Property of Okayama (Bizen); Isezaki Mitsuru (b. 1934). Mitsuru is the brother of Living National Treasure, Ningen Kokuho, Isezaki Jun and uncle of Isezaki Koichiro. He is widely exhibited and published and has won the prestigious Kaneshige Toyo Prize for his work.

High American standard 14K gf was used to hand shape the ancient spiral design and bail enhancer hook. The 25X39 mm etched horse carnelian agate bead etched in faraway lands and the USA hand wrought metal yields a 2 3/8" pendant that weighs 11 Grams. The etching is achieved with what appears to be sandblasted and it is highly polished.
