This experimental work by young artist Hiramatsu Ryoma demonstrates his creative imagination and challenges the traditional boundaries of what defines a tea bowl. Ash-glaze blasted with fire color of foggy green and yellow shizen yu glaze, shell props on the side, allowing us a view into the firing as it lay on its side in the kiln, the molten ash building up on the opposite side and following gravity down in streams...

A spectacular work by Wada Akira enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Omiwatari Chawan (God’s Crossing) and date to 2022. The name comes from the cracks in the ice on Lake Suwa, that is said to be the footprints of God. The blue cracks glaze crawls and plays over the white glaze. The shape is very comfortable, with a rounded body inviting the hand to hold and touch. Inside is all glazed, maing it very easy for whisking the frothy tea.
