This is a lovely still life painting on board of an Indian pottery bowl with a single rose. Rose Ann Rose is an Arizona artist who travels extensively throughout the West and Mexico gathering material for her paintings. She loves Indian artifacts, pottery and blankets, and always puts a flower or flowers in her paintings. This framed painting measures 8" x 10" without the frame. It was painted in the 1980s.

Thick ash covers the squat form of this exquisite traditionally shaped tsubo by Tsujimura Kai enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled simply Uzukumaru. Green ash has poured in a torrent around the form, settling into glossy black around the base on one side and tingeing the rim with charcoal fingers. To one side huge crescent moon shaped kutsuki forms a rakish grin, inviting the viewer to join in the merriment.

A morphic vessel of rough outer form like a fossilized egg or bowl of coral covered from the rim within by slick blue, a quintessential work by Tanoue Shinya enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kara-wan (Empty Shell) and date to 2018.
